Well as I worked on woolies sweet counter as a Saturday girl in 1967 I loved the fresh maltesers, came in a 26 lb box And I soon put paid to a few slack handfuls.
Next up was the chocolate dragees and chocolate brazils.
Now my more sophisticated palate ( and with limiting gf and df) it would be bendicks chocolate mints and valor dark chocolate with almendradas..I bring back 4 packs from Tenerife usually

Sherbet lemons are awful. They take the roof off your mouth.

Liquorice Catherine Wheels it must be. Unwound slowly and the jelly saved until the end. In our courting days we used to unwind them and race each other to the middle. We weren’t bothered about the jelly then.

No it’s cola cubes that rip the skin off the top of your mouth! I think there’s a pineapple version too.
