Do you sleep with a feather pillow?

Is it comfy?

Atm I have a memory foam one but it stays in shape a bit too well & isn't always very comfy to sleep on :(

Not on my bed but I have feather pillows on the couch and I can’t nap on them as the feathers ‘crinkle’ too much and the noise pisses me off Grin

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 22/05/2020 22:27

Yes, I love a feather and down pillow, so comfy as it moulds to your head shape and stays cool. I have 4 feather pillows (double bed all to myself!) and struggle to sleep in hotels when they have poly pillows. I have a memory foam one too, but it’s too solid for sleeping so I use it to sit up when reading etc

ChicCroissant · 22/05/2020 22:27

No, due to allergies. But I do find that we have to replace foam pillows often as they flatten. I can't remember what pillows we got last time but they were not cheap and they still look like the filling is in two halves now Grin If memory foam retains it's shape I will consider that next time.

Only like feathers. Hate foam as it’s too soft.
I do have feather pillows my mum made in the 1960’s for her first house with my dad, They are like sandbags!

Drbrowns · 22/05/2020 22:32

Yes, I love them. Couldn’t sleep with any other kind of pillow.

kyles101 · 22/05/2020 22:32

Oooh I used to love my feather and down pillow, but we have recently moved to tempur and I now love that even more!!

lucysmam · 22/05/2020 22:35

@DuckALaurent I hadn't considered the crinkly noise they make! I have feather cushions on my sofa and chair & quite like them for leaning against. Maybe I'll take one to bed to try!

@MarkRuffaloCrumble yes, the memory foam is quite solid. I actually find I turn mine to the other long edge, every other night, iyswim so I make a new dint in it Hmm which probably defeats the object of them.

Yes. Got several from ikea. Very comfortable, wash fine though you do need to tumble dry for ages to get really dry, and seem to last years.
And no sharp bits sticking through, which can happen with cheaper ones!

Rosegoldglass · 22/05/2020 22:42

God no, I’d never be able to sleep due to the noise (and I wear ear plugs) but also I need a firm pillow

Cupcakegirl13 · 22/05/2020 22:42

Yes and I love them so much , can’t sleep on the poly filled ones.

Wallywobbles · 22/05/2020 22:43

Pure down - it means I'm sleeping almost flat but cocooned. Really hate all other pillows.

Carrie7469 · 22/05/2020 22:45

I got some feather pillows from Soak and Sleep and I love them. They took a bit of getting used to as they're quite thick. They're not cheap but worth every penny.

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 22/05/2020 22:50

I've got a feather topper. It's glorious.

Tinkletwat · 22/05/2020 22:52

Feather and down all the way, with cotton covers as I can't stand synthetic bedding. I don't find they make a noise but I have an additional plain pillowcase over each.

Glowcat · 22/05/2020 22:57

Nope. I used to, then I read up on where the feathers come from and live plucking.

Shodan · 22/05/2020 22:59

No, because of allergies.

I have two pillows from Soak and Sleep, I think they're called Just Like Down or something. They're two years old and still as good as when I first got them.

I do like the sort of crinkle noise though Grin

mouse70 · 22/05/2020 23:00

Despite "Ticking" my feather pillow has feather shafts that poke through and prick!!!

Chillipeanuts · 22/05/2020 23:01

Yes, two feathers, two foam.

BTW, all my feather things are ancient, inherited from parents. The topper is the newest thing and that's at least a decade old.

Live plucking is horrific, do don't intend to buy new feather, but will continue to make use of the old stuff.

Nsky · 22/05/2020 23:03

Great wool pillows

GoldenKelpie · 22/05/2020 23:04

Yes, mine molds to my head shape and is very comfortable. I also use a feather duvet and although it is very light and thin, it is amazingly warm. Highly recommend.

RitzSpy · 22/05/2020 23:06

Yes feather pillows are the best.

Megan2018 · 22/05/2020 23:06

Yes, from Soak & Sleep. It is bliss!

quarantinevibes · 22/05/2020 23:08

Yes feather & down and they’re the only ones that haven’t flattened and lost their shape. Highly recommend they’re very comfortable. Tried out a contoured foam pillow with a gel lining recently; but gone back to the feather
