I don't have a dog so can't contribute to that arm of the research study, but if anyone's interested I can confirm that the back of a chicken's neck (when your nose is buried amidst warm feathers) smells like baby rusks which is completely delicious.

YES @UtterlyUnimaginative! My sister (also a member of Cat Sniffers Anonymous) and I refer to it as "marinating". Best smell ever.

Popcorn paws here too! Though she's got quite tiny feet.

Her ears just smell doggy to me. But I love her smell. It's like concentrated puppy smell (unless she's been rolling in something, in which case it...isn't).

Her pink belly smells a bit cheesy sometimes though.

Mmm, I've just had a sniff of an unfurled Spaniel belly, it smells to me like malted milk biscuits.

I now wish I had a chicken to sniff!

And for the record, a Bearded Dragon's back smells like warm paper when it's just out of the photocopier .

After a large amount of bribery, I can confirm that Resident Collie has inner ears that smell of honey (specifically heather honey from the Borders) and paws that smell of popcorn.

My cats warm toe beans smell of rich tea biscuits. When they are fast asleep and unroll the smell wafts up. I find the pink pads smell more than the black ones.

We are all enjoying the smell of our 9 week old puppy's feet. My daughter told me to smell them for her as she can't come and see him. Haven't sniffed his ears yet, but his puppy breath is lovely.

Yes my dog has inside ears that smell of honey too! But her paws are corn chips. Sometimes I call her dorito haah.

These are the only two parts of her that do smell nice.

This brings back such lovely memories of my old jrt! He used to come to the office with me (yes best job ever!) and one of the other girls said, do you know your dogs paws smell of biscuits? After that I used to love sniffing his lovely little feet and yes they were digestive biscuits!

My Lady Sarah, no longer with me, was called popcorn lady and flumpy bumpy. She was a proper popcorn girl. I loved her smell. I have 2 left. Mr Geeps and Tooley. Both smell of popcorn and warm wee haha. But I love their smell. Especially when in bed with me and they get all warm and cozy and wafts from under the covers. All the are Chihuahuas. Chipopcorners.

Our lab is known as biscuit paws or funky ears, I love her smell. She presses her face against mine and I give her over exaggerated sniffs, loves it she does and I get the lovely smells
