Scoring system

Apples one point each
Oranges/tangerines/satsuma one point
Bananas two points each
Grapes five points a bunch but must be over 20 grapes
Grapes in a bunch of fewer than 20 three points
Grapefruit 3 points
Peaches/plums/nectarines 2 points
Kiwi three points
Fruit that is in your fridge eg strawberries/raspberries/blueberries two points per variety
Lemons three points
Mangoes four points
Pineapples 6points
,melons 5 points

Other fruits (not including technically fruits but aren't really like tomatoes and cucumber ) one point each

Frozen and tinned fruit doesn't count. Nor does juice. Or dried fruit.

I am currently scoring 22 points. If I had thought of this twenty minutes ago I would have scored 25.

Tomatoes don't count. Sorry. Thems the rules.

2 apples, a passionfruit, a Sharpie and a clothes peg

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 17/05/2020 20:48

Oh after googling just discovered loads of the veg is actually fruit......avocado, peppers, chillis, sweetcorn, squash, aubergine etc etc, in which case I’ve lost count (we are vegetarian tbf and there’s four of us)

An elephant.

What do I get for that?

viques · 17/05/2020 20:48

Cucumbers don't count either (they aren't smart enough)

12 point for 4 limes. Jesus, I should put some vitamins in the trolley for DS if we continue as we are Blush

He is having a lot of (frozen) vegetables though. (Not that that makes it better...)

antipodalpizza · 17/05/2020 20:50

Tomatoes and cucumbers have seeds so they are fruit. Thems the rules.

longcoffee · 17/05/2020 20:50

Can we do one for the cakes and biscuit tin? I'd ace that.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 17/05/2020 20:50

Oh sorry NOT including, ignore me, I’ll go back to my gin. (Does that count it’s got junipers in?)

thecatneuterer · 17/05/2020 20:50

Four oranges
Two tubes of antibiotic eye ointment for cats
A radiator key

BruceAndNosh · 17/05/2020 20:50

In my defence, I made a fruit salad this morning for breakfast tomorrow, but that's in the fridge.
It contains pears, grapefruit and passion fruit none of which appear on your list so I am arbitrarily giving them each a value of 100 points each

lucysmam · 17/05/2020 20:52

How many points for 7 sheets of tissue paper to try colouring dd2's hair temporarily?

In my defense, my fridge scores a measly 6 points atm (I need to top up).

viques · 17/05/2020 20:55

antipodalpizza

See original post re tomatoes and cucumbers , which includes all the other stuff that is technically fruit but morally a vegetable.

Errmm how many points do I get for a cat , she sleeps in there more often than I have fruit in it

AppleJane · 17/05/2020 20:57

If only frozen fruit was allowed!

viques · 17/05/2020 20:59

Be my guest, but be prepared for tears and tantrums about whether Jaffa cakes are cakes or biscuits, and if fig rolls have a place in the 21st century biscuit tin. Where do you stand on Sainsburys fruit and seed yogurt covered rice cakes? You see what you will be up against?

OP posts:
viques · 17/05/2020 21:01

moolady 12 points if you post a photo of her in the fruit bowl. 20points if she is a tabby.

Private arrangement for moolady only.

Ooh forgot my frozen cherries, frozen watermelon and cherry tomatoes

longcoffee · 17/05/2020 21:37

@viques Jaffa Cakes never last long enough here for me to be able to get a look in!

I fear the Cupboard of Crap is singlehandedly keeping the good folks at Mr Kipling in business. My poor fruit bowl is fighting for dominance against the mighty lemon slice (and losing)
