Vain, I know, but do you have a frown line?

If you’re mid 40s or thereabouts do you have a line or two between your eyebrows?

I do and I currently hide it with a fringe. I’m not sure I really suit the fringe. I’m just wondering if most people by my age have a frown line or not. I mean am I trying to hide a ‘flaw’ which is just normal? I’m not bothered about laughter lines for example.

Mid 40s and no frown lines. Obviously because I'm such a lovely person that I never frown! (Or actually blind luck)

Nowifi · 20/04/2020 23:57

I have laughter lines, mid 30s! Can botox get rid of these? At least it means I'm always smiling I guess!

Quarantimespringclean · 21/04/2020 07:08

@SignOnTheWindow. No secret!! I go to the Dr Leah clinic in the City of London. She has other clinics too and there are many other specialist aesthetic practices out there.

I think if you want to avoid looking ‘done’ it’s important to go to an experienced doctor who fully understands the physiology of the face rather than a beauty therapist but that being said, even doctors will have their own styles so it’s important to be very clear what you want from the procedure. I was very specific that I didn’t want to look as if I had had any work done and was directed to a doctor who is good at the natural look. The clinic also has a doctor who works with people who actually want the ‘fake look’ that is popular with a lot of young women at the moment n

I’m 38 and have a very pronounced “1” between my eyes. I also have the beginnings of smokers lines and the usual laughter lines.

I’ve been using frownies on my frown line and it’s really reduced.

Not sure what I can do for the smokers lines, they are on one half of my lip so I’m clearly very asymmetrical in my facial movements!

I’m micro needling the area and using hyularonic and glycolic stuffs but really the thing to do is fillers. But I really don’t want to get them. I’m waiting till my vanity overtakes my sense of propriety

Mominatrix · 21/04/2020 07:18

50 here and no wrinkles at all. It's genetic.

Valkadin · 21/04/2020 07:29

I’m in my early fifties and no frown line, I did have two faint lines appear across my forehead post menopause. For my age I’m very line free it’s mainly genetics but also I’m just not keen on being in the sun and have never smoked.

SignOnTheWindow · 21/04/2020 07:50

@Quarantimespringclean much appreciated - thank you!

vampirethriller · 21/04/2020 07:57

Nearly 39 and no lines but I've got little crows feet by my eyes.

CrossFreelancer · 21/04/2020 08:03

Curious to see photos of these 50 year old ladies who say they don't have single wrinkle!

Hemlock2013 · 21/04/2020 08:27

I guess they don’t move their faces much???

Roomba · 21/04/2020 08:54

I'm 43 and have had a frown line between my eyebrows since I was about 30, maybe before? A few faint crows lines round my eyes, that's about it so far. My sister is 40 but has loads of forehead lines and wrinkles round her eyes and mouth. She smokes a lot though, so I think that's had an effect.

billy1966 · 21/04/2020 10:51

Does anyone wish they had had a little light vanity work done to freshen themselves up before the lockdown occurred???....knowing that they wouldn't see anyone and could have just emerged a little brighter?

I would love a little rejuvenating peel to freshen me up...but life is always so bloody busy that I don't want the down time....so have never bothered.

Some days I'm barely slapping on moisturiser.....so I suppose I could definitely help myself by doing that!🙄

Mominatrix · 21/04/2020 14:09

Quite bitchy Hemlock2013. East Asian women and women with higher melanin content in their skin do not wrinkle as early as caucasian women - fact. Add avoiding sun, eating well, sleeping well, and not smoking at you can remain wrinkle free even at 60 (true of my mum).

Mominatrix · 21/04/2020 14:12

Read and educate yourself before assuming that every wrinkle free woman is botoxed up.

daffodilrosedaisy · 21/04/2020 14:14

Ha I’m 23 and have a pronounced one! But even in baby pics of me I’m frowning, unfortunately it’s my concentration face

Angellegna · 21/04/2020 14:17

I've got a 'I' line which I've had since I was 15 - I remember buying wrinkle cream with my pocket money and rubbing it in, hoping it would go away!

I'm under 40 and it's quite pronounced. I would like to get Botox one day but I've just not found the right clinic yet.

Hemlock2013 · 21/04/2020 18:22

Meant no offence. Just pointing out that some people’s faces are more expressive than others and it may be a link as to why I’m littered with wrinkles at 38 and other people have none at 50.

TroysMammy · 21/04/2020 18:25

Yes, I'm 52 and I'm a scowler. I will never have botox as it shows I'm not tolerant of twats Grin.

TheGinGenie · 21/04/2020 18:25

I'm 33 and have one. I don't really have any other wrinkles, just this one. I'm not that bothered and have a long fringe which helps!

Delatron · 21/04/2020 18:33

I have to say having a frown line doesn’t automatically make you look old/older

I’ve had Botox and it didn’t make me look any younger.

I try and focus on good skincare etc now. There are other things that age us, pigmentation, sagging skin etc. So I’m dealing with those through lasers, skincare etc. As I just didn’t like Botox. I’m tempted again at some point but just not frequently. I do think other muscles start to compensate and it can create extra wrinkles.

SaffyWall · 21/04/2020 18:38

I'm 40 and over the past 6 months or so have noticed the beginnings of a frown line near to my left eyebrow. Over the past couple of weeks another one has appeared near my right eyebrow - hardly surprising that I've been frowning more given the current circumstances though!

olivehater · 21/04/2020 18:40

I have one. And a much lighter one so strangely uneven. As well as some horizontal lines at 38. I had baby Botox for the first time. My god it’s amazing. I feel so much better. It isn’t unnatural. It’s one area spread out to two so don’t get that glassy appearance and costs less. You will never go back. Just hope I can get out of this lockdown before it wears off.

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 21/04/2020 18:40

40 and have frown line. Like a pp I frown when I concentrate, think, read. Also struggle with bright light so I squint a lot when it’s sunny

Coniferhedge · 21/04/2020 18:54

I’m 48 and have a terrible deep number 11 on my forehead. It’s frustrating because I like my hair in a very short pixie cut, but have to have a long fringe as I’m so self conscious of my horrible lines (yes, I’m also very vain!)

Swingingsally · 21/04/2020 20:10

What does '' I'm on the retinol a '' mean??

What is it and how do we get it.

I don't mins crow feet, for head.. But I really dislike the frown line.

I wouldn't mind botox purely for that line? Possible?
