Lol at the Mumsnet filth bags and their soft porn secrets

I’ll tell you it’s fair lifted my Easter Sunday. Better than the resurrection.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 12/04/2020 19:21

Welcome to Temptation, Bet Me or Agnes and the Hitman both by Jennifer Crusie, there's good sex, a sweet(ish) love story and humour in them.

Pinkarsedfly · 12/04/2020 19:25

Jennifer Crusie’s leading men are always right up my street 😉

SambaMamba · 12/04/2020 19:35

Doctors orders sounds mad. Makes me sorry I don’t have an ebook reader haha 😂

SambaMamba · 12/04/2020 21:53

Thanks for coming on to say that!

Tried googling for a free pdf of doctors orders and this was my first hit. Google’s algorithms really don’t understand me.

Seems a rather niche kind of smut, banivani.

But hey, you do you. I’m not judging Wink

"Ambition" by Julie Birchill - 80's bonk buster. Protagonist is gorgeous, young new wave / punk music journalist who makes / shags her way (disguising her provincial background) to the Broadsheets; obviously not autobiographical...

I'm sure she wrote it as a piss take of the consumerism of the time - namedrops every Club / Designer / Restaurant of that era from the Groucho to Indochine via Azzedine Alaia.

I remember a lot of £150 (!) Fogal cashmere tights being ripped off in heights of passion (e.g. spontaneous sex in Soho alleyways - she put them on her expenses claim) and thinking surely some hold ups or stockings being more appropriate? I'm sure she mentioned 80 denier opaques at one time but, probably, taking the piss out of male editors.

Loads of shagging - with multiple partners.
Message seems to have been safe sex doesn't need to be practiced if penis owner is gorgeous and / or rich and not to be considered if partner(s) female.

SambaMamba · 13/04/2020 08:14

lol at opaque tights

What about Harold Robbins? Probably horribly dated, but were considered quite racy back in the day.

Tezza1 · 13/04/2020 08:24

And, I'm ageing myself, using the term "racy."

SambaMamba · 13/04/2020 08:36

We’ve just had a kind of dual entry moment on doctors orders

I came on to suggest Valley of The Dolls. I remember nicking a battered old copy from my mother’s bookshelf. Gloriously trashy cover of women with massive backcombed updoes and scattered with multicoloured drugs. A real capsule of the 60s.

If you like Jacqueline Susan, then there’s also Once is Not Enough and Dolores too. The latter is a bonkbuster based on the life of Jackie Kennedy. My wasted teenage years!

Pinkarsedfly · 13/04/2020 10:30

I remember Princess Daisy being, erm, instructive.

justforthisnow · 13/04/2020 12:29

Great suggestions here....a word of caution re Literotica @spudina , there's a lot a LOT of rape based stories, dressed up as fantasy, and lots of incestous tales also. The most popular read stories are nearly all incest based. Worth mentioning as I don't think its a female friendly site at all.

WickedlyPetite · 13/04/2020 16:25

When you've finished reading Doctors Orders, download Barbarian Prize by the same author Grin

I've also spotted Ménage by Emma Holly on my kindle, I recall that being a good read.

SlowHorse · 15/04/2020 04:52

@justforthisnow absolutely agree. I think I googled or was recommended this site as woman friendly erotica and it was vile. Misogynistic to extreme.

MrsDrSpencerReid · 15/04/2020 05:36

Lori Foster writes some good ones!

catinb0oots · 15/04/2020 08:52

Oh god I'm going to read all the Jilly's again after this thread. I forgot I downloaded them all to my kindle last year.

Jilly will be the perfect tonic
