Just been catching up on the Mumsnet Premium thread and saw a couple of references to BMC.

I was on there for a number of years and remember coming here when it closed down, struggling with how different it was.

I was in the FB group but have come off FB so wondered how many of us there are still floating around?

Wondering if I was one of the arseholes now.... never joined in on Misto and Jo because I wasn't sure I was allowed to....

I was very sad when it closed and it was BMC that made me see for the first time exactly what a shitty relationship I was in.... used to have so much fun on there

There used to be Misto and Jo threads on here, at the end of BMC. And we almost had one on FB last week!

Is Jo still on there?

What happened to it?

It had a long slow lingering death after subs were introduced. It lives on in a FB group

Steph E-mailed me once as she had read something I had posted and wanted to use it for her stuff.

I used to read BMC but never really posted. I remember a lady with triplets & I also remember a lady called Amanda who sadly died of breast cancer, she had a young son. She was an only child too, I think. I sometimes think of her husband & son & wonder how they're doing.

I remember Amanda, or Pink Survivor, I have thought of her family many times over the years. They had a hand sculpture made, and a quilt.

The lady with triplets has posted on this thread and I too think of Amanda regularly along with all the other Bad Mothers that have left us too early.
What we always were good at and still are on Facebook is rallying around when someone needs support or practical help. It’s a place where you can always be sure of a handhold and an ear to listen.

I read rather than participated much in BMC when now 15 yo ds was a baby/toddler and I was struggling as a new single mum. It was a great site and i learnt a lot there.

I was on there, not in the FB group but still have some ex BMC'ers as FB friends including the aforementioned Fenn...
