Just been catching up on the Mumsnet Premium thread and saw a couple of references to BMC.

I was on there for a number of years and remember coming here when it closed down, struggling with how different it was.

I was in the FB group but have come off FB so wondered how many of us there are still floating around?

I'm here. I was Blowfish on BMC, as well as other names which involve my real name so don't want to post.

I am on the FB group too!!

ghostyslovesheets · 11/04/2020 18:25

Foxy here!

FretYeNot · 11/04/2020 18:26

Fenn's very active on twitter.

Hippy, my fb name still has my bmc name in it!

Wasn't there some controversy with Snoopy?

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 11/04/2020 18:50

Is she onTwitter as Fenn?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/04/2020 18:51

I didn't mind Mr A, he was very good at providing links, can't remember him mansplaining.

Was Fenn the poster with chickens?

Monstermissy36 · 11/04/2020 18:55

Me!! Won thread of the month once.... loved it, I think it was when my 17 year old was a baby so a while ago.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 11/04/2020 18:56

I don't remember Mr A mansplaining either, always found him helpful with links etc.

Monstermissy36 · 11/04/2020 19:00

One lady very sadly lost a baby... had a still birth (horrid phrase sorry) but I have always remember that baby.... Maggie.... have thought of Maggie and her mum over the years.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/04/2020 19:04

Ah yes, Maggie, God,that was sad.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 11/04/2020 19:04

Yes I remember that too Sad
There were some fab people on there, along with a couple of nightmares.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/04/2020 19:06

It was 80% nightmares, that's what made it so fab Wink

Aurignacian · 11/04/2020 19:07

I’m a BMCer

Monstermissy36 · 11/04/2020 19:08

Ha ha that's why I'm not telling my username 😂

Monstermissy36 · 11/04/2020 19:08

Not that I was ever in any grief on there

Ocies · 11/04/2020 19:09

I was there too, under a different name. I remember Maggie.

MamaWeasel · 11/04/2020 19:14

I was once a BMer. I liked Doh and Palomino. I remember Maggie

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 11/04/2020 19:20

And the lovely lady who lost her son after a bad epileptic fit, he'd been on his way to buy a record and had told her it was about shoes. She wanted it played at his funeral but didn't know what it was.
Paolo Nuttini's New Shoes, always think of her when I hear it.

mrsjg · 11/04/2020 19:24

I was on BMC. I loved it. I preferred it to Mumsnet.

To me Mumsnet felt like a head girl and BMC like the rowdy kids at the back of class

I remember Ron, Mr Anubis and Bullet. There are other I remember but can't be sure if I can remember their names right.

It was on a thread on BMC, that I realised DS was on the autistic spectrum. Someone had started a thread about their son and it sounded so much like my own child. One of the replies mentioned ASD, and as soon as I read it I knew that what is was. I will always remember it because of that alone.

Happy times, I was sad when it closed.

toomanykidstoolittletime · 11/04/2020 19:24

Yes, I always think of them when that song comes on. She's still around but not on the BMC facebook group

pictish · 11/04/2020 19:26

Oh I was in contestant grief on BMC...but I did really value the place. Still do. Am on the fb group and I think it’s grand.
