Just curious, really.

I’ve had:-

Measles
Chicken pox
Hepatitis A
Pneumonia
Glandular fever

I’ve been vaccinated against:

Whatever childhood things they gave in the 60’s (diphtheria and whooping cough, I think)
Polio
Tetanus
Smallpox
Rubella
Typhoid (lasts 3 years, expired)
Yellow fever (lasts 10 years, expired)
Hepatitis B
Pneumonia (lasts 10 years, expired)
Flu (annual for last 20 years)

I've had:
Chickenpox (v mild, about a dozen spots)
Whooping cough (very mild and escaped the lingering cough)
Rubella

I've been vaccinated against:
Hep B - only thing I know I've been fully vaccinated against
Incomplete childhood vax schedule due to allergies and severe reactions.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 07/04/2020 01:19

I've had:
flu
chickenpox (v. bad)
and managed not to catch mumps despite my brother and sister both getting it

Vaccinated against:
polio
tetanus
whooping cough
Measles (our family moved to a small island, and it was required before they let us in).

Not had rubella vaccine (mother did not consent). Too old for MMR or the cervical cancer one.
did get BCG at school, after daisy prick did not react, so I needed it.

happymummy12345 · 07/04/2020 01:31

Was born in 1993, had all usual vaccinations, including bcg as it was standard where I lived.
Only thing I've had is chickenpox, got it as an adult, I was 17 and had it bad, literally covered head to toe, even had spots inside my mouth. Felt weak and exhausted for the first few days I had it.

All standard vaccines and no matching illnesses

notangelinajolie · 07/04/2020 01:51

I had all the vacs offered to a child born in the 60's
Remember having Polio on sugar cube at school
And BCG test which I had a reaction to so I didn't get the vaccination.

Infectious stuff I've had
Mumps
Chicken Pox
Glandular Fever
Flu Christmas1998
And probably Covid-19

TinklyLittleLaugh · 07/04/2020 02:05

Born mid 60s, had all the usual vaccines.

I’ve had
Measles
German measles
Mumps (remember it as quite nasty)
Flu
And chicken pox in my mid twenties which was horrendous.

Graymare · 07/04/2020 02:49

I've had:
Measles, as a baby before I was old enough for vaccination.
Whooping cough, grim, off school for a month.
Chickenpox.
Glandular Fever.

Vaccinated against:
Polio,
Diptheria,
Smallpox,
Rubella, had a really bizarre reaction to that which paralyzed my legs for just over a week.

Hidingtonothing · 07/04/2020 02:56

Born mid 70's and had whatever was available then vaccinations-wise, no boosters as far as I remember but did have TB and rubella at senior school. Childhood illnesses I had, measles, mumps, rubella and chicken pox.

Nat6999 · 07/04/2020 03:30

Born in 1966, vaccinated against
Diphtheria
Tetanus
Polio
TB
Rubella

Had
German measles
Chicken pox twice
Measles
Mumps twice
Hand foot & mouth (as an adult)
Scarlet Fever (as an adult)

cheesenmarmite · 07/04/2020 03:46

I think I've had rubella, I have a vague memory of not having the vaccine because they tested for immunity first but I might be making that up. I had the TB jab though because I wasn't immune to that when they checked.

cheesenmarmite · 07/04/2020 03:55

I've had measles and rubella but not mumps, also chicken pox and whooping cough. I think I've had covid because before it was in the news as much, Dp and I had a horrendous cough which was dry and I had to keep stopping for breath when walking and kept going hot and cold and the 3 DCs had the cough and a temperature for about a week and slept loads.

StinkyWizzleteets · 07/04/2020 04:11

I’ve had measles, reubella, chicken pox, pneumonia
Didn’t have MMR as it wasn’t really a thing back then
I don’t know if I had the baby vaccines but I do remember getting tetanus and polio in my first year of primary school - ugh eating a sugar lump with this minging bitter tasting stuff was awful. I had my BCG at birth so never needed it at school or years later when I was retested.

I had a yellow fever vaccination and something else as an adult for going to China but ended up unable to go due to original SARS

Hollyhobbi · 07/04/2020 04:53

I've had measles, rubella, scarlet fever (twice, aged10 and 19) chicken pox and influenza when I was 10 or 11. Never caught mumps.

Had BCG, polio, diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough vaccinations and also Hepatitis B as I worked as as nurse years ago. Flu injection the last couple of years.

Hollyhobbi · 07/04/2020 05:14

@Graymare why and when were you vaccinated against smallpox? This disease has been eradicated now.

FrenchFancie · 07/04/2020 05:23

I’ve got an odd immune system (or my mum told me porkies about which vaccines I had!) as I’ve had both measles and whooping cough and was supposedly vaccinated against both 🤷‍♀️
I don’t recall measles too well but whooping cough as a teenager was a bugger.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 07/04/2020 05:35

Had all vaccines that were on the schedule in the early 80s. I had mumps because I don't think kids were routinely vaccinated for that then. I had chicken pox when I was about 9 and glandular fever aged 11.

We had the rubella vaccine at school I think in year 8 and BCG in year 10. No HPV in those days.

I don't think I've had anything else apart from tonsillitis a few times.

ScrumptiousBears · 07/04/2020 06:14

Vaccines
Diphtheria,
Tetanus,
Measles
Mumps
Whooping cough
BCG
Rubella

Illnesses
Whooping Cough

DinosApple · 07/04/2020 07:41

Diseases I had:
Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Chicken pox
Flu (off work for 6 weeks!)
Glandular fever.

Vaccinations:
Had all standard early 80s kids ones, bar one.
BCG.
Annual flu. Religiously.

Not had or been vaccinated against:
Whooping cough (always had a cough when vac booked so never happened)
MMR (too old, had them all!)

My kids have had all the vaccines available - I've have family members still affected by rubella, measles and polio.

motortroll · 07/04/2020 07:45

I did not have a bcg jab in school (no one did) I have been exposed to 2 people who had TB. (Unusual. Both had been abroad to Asia, one was my age group so no bcg and one was my friends mum who was born in India and was there visiting family and came home ill)

I've had all the childhood vaccinations available in late 70s/early 80s.

I had a mild case of mumps when I was very young (can't remember) I've had chicken pox.

My husband had all same as me but didn't get chicken pox until he was in his 20s and was really ill.

I've had glandular fever.

Had a flu jab when I was pregnant but not since.

PuzzledObserver · 07/04/2020 09:15

@CherryPavlova Pneumonia isn’t an infectious disease.

Ah, no..... how is it classified, then? How come you can get a vaccination against it (well, against pneumococcus) if it’s not infectious?

OP posts:
CigarsofthePharoahs · 07/04/2020 09:20

I've had most of the standard jabs for a child of the 80s. I'm too old for MMR and would have been given a single measles jab, but my gp thought I'd already had measles so didn't give it. I then caught measles.
I had jabs for rubella, polio and tb at school.
I had a "mild" dose of whooping cough at senior school. Regular bouts of coughing without being able to draw breath, usually followed by being sick.
Had a measles booster at senior school, the was an epidemic in Europe so we were all given it regardless.
I've also had quite a few flu jabs. I had pretty severe asthma as a child. Had a few as an adult too. More recently we were offered a chance to take part in a trial for a flu jab. It was a type usually only given to elderly people and they wanted to know how effective it was for others. Apparently very!
I caught swine flu when it was doing the rounds.
However, January of 2019 was a month of flu for me. Woke up with a high fever on New year's Day and was flat out for a week. Had to draft in my parents to help with the school run once DH was back at work. When I finally felt well enough to leave the house I picked my children up from school a grand total of once and woke up the following day with a high fever.
The fever didn't last as long as the previous one, but it was into February before I was feeling well again. Two Flu January.

PuzzledObserver · 07/04/2020 09:21

@Hollyhobbi. Re your question to @Greymare about why vaccinated against smallpox.

Some of us were alive and travelled to places where smallpox was still a risk before it was eradicated. I had it for a family holiday to Spain in 1970.

OP posts:
PuzzledObserver · 07/04/2020 09:31

Actually I’ve just discovered that smallpox vaccination was routinely offered to children until 1971, although take up was poor. In the year that I was born, less than 32% of under-2’s in England and Wales had been vaccinated against smallpox.

OP posts:
Crayfishforyou · 07/04/2020 09:45

Vaccinations:
Whooping cough as a pregnant adult
Diphtheria
Polio
Flu, waste of time. I don't know if the flu jab gave me flu or bad timing but I was floored by flu the day after the jab for two weeks.
Tetanus
Rubella
BCG
Hepatitis A and B
Cholera
Yellow fever, nasty one
Typhoid
Rabies 😁

Had:
Measles
Mumps
Chicken pox
Whooping cough, as a child
Hepatitis E

Kuponut · 07/04/2020 09:53

Think I had all the jabs going for my era apart from whooping cough - which I caught as a young kid as a result.

Had BCG, had MMR out of age-group to get it as my mum was taking my younger brother and decided to take me as well for an added bonus. Had the NHS occupational health jabs as well - due for my final Hep B which has been cancelled because of Covid.

I remember flouncing out of the lounge at one point as a tweenager complaining that I wanted to get ill to stay off school... "but you've bloody vaccinated me against it all"
