He has this '' thing '' where occasionally food gets stuck. He can breathe, obviously, it's just usually it moves within hours and Rarely over night.. He's had it overnight, anyone have this and have any tips?.

He's bounced on trampolines, puked copious times...

He's actually got hospital appt for this later this month.

Would diaazopam help to relax the gullet?

@MaddieElla is it worse that your post just made me laugh out loud Blush

Sorry OP - really do hope everything is ok!

user your brave little boy dealing with his stick!! Poor little lamb!.

Maddie, it was funny, afterwards when I was free...

I distinctly felt the steak turn in my throat and it was entirely blocked. I couldn't breath or make a sound... I immediately jumped up and went to the house phone to dial 999 to then pass to dd but the phone wasn't there on its cradle.

I was utterly panicked, looked upstairs, could hear dh chocking and wretch ING over the loo, dd said are you 👌, I did thumbs down... And it shifted!.

I was saved!
I shouted up to dh for help and he shouted back '' I'm fine leave me ' and I shouted back' 'no its me, I've nealry died' '... I was shakey for hours after and have not risked 🥩 since.

Well.
It seems its shifted. He said he feels enormously bloated... He can't feel its clear but he doesn't think liquid is being Brought up.
He's taken an omerapozlpole tablet...

Had water and soup.

Fingers crossed!

And I was breathed on going to the the shop to get coke for him AND someone on fb said they saw people using the shop below the it flat to buy non essentials like coke!

Fingers crossed!

He's going to be fed a diet of dry crunchy foods from the now on Grin

Not helpful but might make you laugh op.

Dh sometimes gets food stuck, personally I’m think it’s because he’s a guzzling greedy git who can’t shovel food down his gullet fast enough but he reckons he has a narrow oesaphagus. Oookaaay.

Anyway once he accidently swallowed a whole picked onion, no surprise it got stuck. He drank a lot of water trying to wash it down which didn’t work. After a long time of discomfort he eventually managed to throw up to dislodge it. The memory of a bowl full of regurgitated water with a pickled onion floating in in still makes me 😂

I'm struggling to find that funny TBH. Maybe you would if you had read my earlier post Hmm

Kneehighinshit · 07/04/2020 08:03

Ffs why are people still encouraging her to try at home methods to get it out. They're clearly not working!

GO TO HOSPITAL. THE MAN CANNOT KEEP FLUIDS DOWN.

Sod covid, the sausage will kill him quicker if you don't do anything about it.

BornfreebutinCovidChains · 07/04/2020 08:44

He would certainly be going to get help today, but thankfully it seems to have shifted late last night.

Just give me wine 😂, it is hard to have sympathy when some people eat like seals being chucked fish.

My Mil is so snobby and superior and yet her son has no table manners at all and no he doesn't drink enough liquids, and he doesn't eat along with us he literally wolfs it down.

Pork roast tonight and dh will have his cutted up.

Make sure this gets seen to as soon as the current situation permits. I have a BIL who ended up with oesophageal cancer after being on endless repeats of omeprazole. He's OK now, incredibly, but needed some horrendous surgery.

Tulipstulips · 07/04/2020 09:17

God, reading about oesophageal cancer is making my acid reflux play up! As soon as normal service is resumed, I’m going back to the GP about this.

ArthurDentsSpaceTowel · 07/04/2020 11:37

Didn't mean to panic anyone about cancer - but if you do need serious antacids long term it's worth being screened if possible. The outlook is good if you catch it early enough not to need invasive treatment. Look up Barrett's oesophagus.

GloGirl · 07/04/2020 11:48

The thing is the doctor he gets referred to will have MUCH better idea of what it will be if he properly gives the medicine a chance. He needs to take the omneprazole so he can say it does fuck all, or it worked slightly after being taken regularly for 2 months or it's marvellous and reduced the symptoms right down. It will be a v helpful diagnositc tool.

He's at risk of having proper exploration delayed if the consultant decides he first needs to see how well he responds to the routine prescription before doing anything else!

Hope he's ok today, awful to think of him going to sleep with a blockage like that.
