Three "must see" Disney movies?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 05/04/2020 22:43

Just got Disney Plus. Have only really seen the oldies (little mermaid/lion king) plus Toy story.

I'm overwhelmed with the choice!

So...
Which three would you recommend?

Up!! It is (in my humble opinion) the best film Disney/Pixar have ever made and if that didn’t win best picture at the Oscars then I don’t think an animated film ever will.

Agree with a PP that you should watch all of them right now but I would start with Up, Finding Nemo and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Enjoy!

Following for ideas as so far DC keep picking the same movies - Frozen, Lion King & Moana

twosoups1972 · 06/04/2020 14:31

Has no-one mentioned The Rescuers?

twosoups1972 · 06/04/2020 14:32

Loving Disney+ but I was very upset that I can't watch on either our big TV or my iPad because they're too old Sad

TinklyLittleLaugh · 06/04/2020 14:59

Cool Runnings
Jungle Book
Live Action Aladdin

Does your tv have a USB port? If so, order a Google Chromecast. Then you can mirror your phone to your tv screen.

It's not a movie but the stage version of Newsies (with Jeremy Jordan) is fantastic!

PurpleDaffodill · 06/04/2020 15:26

Alice in wonderland
The parent trap
Freaky Friday

dkanin · 06/04/2020 15:27

Robin Hood is the best one!
I think the best music is in Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas and Aladdin (original)

twosoups1972 · 06/04/2020 16:08

Thank you @BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz but you lost me on USB port Grin A what??

Bluebooby · 06/04/2020 16:17

I like most Disney's. Moana, Mulan, Aladdin, Hercules, Sleeping Beauty are some of my favourites. I've seen most of them multiple times but only saw Pocahontas once as a child so would probably watch that to see if it's any good.

Moana! - honestly the best Disney princess there is.
101 Dalmatians - great old school
Inside Out - beautiful and heartfelt

MrsWithwithers · 06/04/2020 18:35

Glad you’ve watched inside out - now you need to watch Coco, and Moana. Frozen is actually pretty good too - most modern Disney stuff has some nice messages and strong female leads. Brave is good too, though my 4yo turned to me at the end and said ‘Mummy what is a Scottish person?’ Which made me laugh more than it should have.

My DC are obsessed with The Aristocats at the moment, but I can’t get past O’Malley the Alley Cat having Baloo’s voice. There is so much disney to watch though.
