Albums to introduce kids to...

We have Spotify. A few weeks ago, I started introducing the older kids (14, 11 and 9) to some of my favourite music but I'm stumped for new stuff so please can I ask for some iconic albums or lesser heard of to carry this on?
So far we have tried and liked:
Simon Webbe (they all were put to sleep to him as babies)
ELO - Mr Blue Sky is my favourite song.
Queen
Bowie
Elton John
Michael Jackson
Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack

We like songs you can jump around to, happy songs. Or songs that have a high singalong factor.

Thank you in advance!

The Stone Roses
Blur Parklife

Zisforstripyoss · 03/04/2020 22:53

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morrisette if you don't mind the swearing
Middle of Nowhere by Hanson
Any of the Matchbox 20 albums

How about introducing them to REM, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, McFly, The Beach Boys, Motown, Britpop?

Zisforstripyoss · 03/04/2020 22:54

Oasis in particular

Robbie Willliams does good singalong

I agree with the Stone Roses, would also go for Urban Hymns by The Verve and Massive Attack Blue Lines.

Red Hot Chili Peppers! DS is 5 and loves them, it’s great to have something we can both blast without the other groaning.

ADreamOfGood · 03/04/2020 23:14

Boney M
Wham
Abba
All for singability and fun

Oasis-What’s The Story

JoeExotic · 03/04/2020 23:15

We had a Beatles party earlier with a year olds - twist and shout was a big hit with them!

Osquito · 03/04/2020 23:16

*Sorry, album-wise:
the last few are probably easier for anyone to get into (By The Way, for example) before unleashing the old stuff Wink

SuperPixie247 · 03/04/2020 23:18

A third one to come on and say Rumours!

Myself, DP and our 4 year old DS had a good dance to it earlier Smile

thenightsky · 03/04/2020 23:22

My boys always loved B52s Rock Lobster..
They learnt all the various noises of the animals, and we used to dance like crazy, happy times! Grin

BeetrootRocks · 03/04/2020 23:26

Madness
The Prodigy Grin

AngeloMysterioso · 03/04/2020 23:41

I was also gonna say Rumours.

If you really want to educate them just work your way through the Now That’s What I Call Music! album playlists.

waltzingparrot · 03/04/2020 23:48

Fleetwood Mac's Tango in the Night

peekaboob · 03/04/2020 23:57

@AngeloMysterioso I have the original Now that's what I call music. On cassette! I've played that to them along with Five Star and Bros cassettes Grin

We've also done RunDMC. Boys are loving It's Tricky. They thought Kriss Kross were hilarious.
