Has anyone worn a bra over the last few days?

I haven't actually worn one in a week now and it's much more comfortable .

I tend to wear dresses for homeworking. I’ve probably worn a bra about 50% of the time. It depends on my mood and the dress.

I always put a little makeup on each day, even if I have no video conferences. It’s part of my feel good factor!

I’ve saved on the washing when it comes to knickers though. I’ve hardly worn any since this all began.

Ginfordinner · 01/04/2020 07:11

I would wear a dress more than once, but not if I wasn't wearing any knickers, so I don't see any washing saving there.

Oblomov20 · 01/04/2020 07:11

No. Have ordered a cropped top bra thing though.

Yes every day as I have to. But if you're flat chested I don't know why you would bother now or ever.

Ginfordinner · 01/04/2020 07:16

Because it boosts my confidence to add some curves where there aren't any Growingboys. And it isn't uncomfortable to wear one.

Weatherwax · 01/04/2020 07:20

Yes, I'm a 34K so need one, but once I get in from work (key worker) I have downgraded to an incredibly comfy giant crop top. I love it.

vampirethriller · 01/04/2020 07:59

Yes, a very comfy maternity one, I don't go braless as they are very low hanging these days.

StarlightLady · 01/04/2020 08:02

@Ginfordinner - l don’t wear anything that goes under your armpits, round your crotch or on your feet more than once.

Cat0115 · 01/04/2020 08:43

I've just ordered a booband which claims to add extra rigour to my already girdered sports bra. Jo W is a bouncy workout and my poor 13 year old DS had such a look of horror as I held on to my boobs during bunny hops and kangaroo jumps... Also the Miranda style claps under the chin during mountain climbers... Anyone? .. Or just me. Blush

Therebythedoor · 01/04/2020 08:46

Not wearing a bra. It had its advantages - my knees are nice and warm 🙂

Frownette · 01/04/2020 08:46

Yes, I like bras - don't feel comfortable without one. And I'm quite a small size.

PhoneLock · 01/04/2020 08:50

Yes and no. It depends what I am doing. I don't wear a bra every day normally so the current circumstances have made no difference.

TheGirlFromStoryville · 01/04/2020 09:00

I have, as mine hurt if I don't (H cup.)
Bought a load of Glamorise non wired ones before all this started - they are ultra comfortable and supportive.
Can't wear wired bras at all now.

tectonicplates · 01/04/2020 09:04

Yes. I always wear one. I never understand the common Mn trope of your bra being an instrument of torture that must be ripped joyfully from your body as soon as you’re through the front door in the evening

I'm getting tired of having to explain this to people, but here we go again.

If you're a small cup size, then the underwires only sit on the front of your body. But if you're a large cup size, especially in combination with a small back size, then a considerable part of the underwires sit on the side of your body. A properly fitting bra is supposed to be comfortable if you're standing or sitting up straight, but if you're lying on your side in bed or on the sofa, then you're lying on a piece of metal. It's the same reason why I don't wear underwired bras for yoga, because if I'm doing a load of twisting and bending then the underwire is going to be scratching me.

I highly recommend the Freya Fancies bralette for anyone with a larger cup size.

ExpletiveDelighted · 01/04/2020 09:07

I'd only ever heard of the taking your bra off when you get home thing on MN too, I'm fairly big so my wires go right round the sides but they are still comfy for lounging in. I don't wear a wired one for yoga though so point taken.

Crystal87 · 01/04/2020 09:10

Yes I've been wearing a bra all day. I like the feeling of them being supported, not swinging free.

BogRollBOGOF · 01/04/2020 09:24

I'm small so I like some padding so my 32Bs (debatable, but smaller backs/ bigger cups are rare) are actually bigger than my tummy. I also wear sports bras due to frequent running.

Sometimes after a post-run shower it's liberating to just hang out.

Ughmaybenot · 01/04/2020 09:26

Yep. NHS worker so I’m still going to work. While I’m perfectly happy to go braless other times, it’s not entirely appropriate at work I don’t think 😂

SweetPetrichor · 01/04/2020 09:51

Nah, I'm enjoying the freedom. I never wear a bra at home. Free-boobing is the only good thing about this lockdown!

Enchantmentz · 01/04/2020 10:17

30ff here, don't know how as they aren't humongous in my eyes but that is what bravissimo said, so no I have been letting loose on the bra front. I usually spend the warmer months braless anyway and no saggage as far as I can see. I don't see the point in a bra if I am not wearing the clothes that best suit them and I am not seeing anyone.

FenellaMaxwell · 01/04/2020 10:21

I always wear one. I find the attitude that bras are akin to torture devices really weird. If your bra is uncomfortable, you are wearing the wrong bra.

Lightofthephoenix · 01/04/2020 10:40

I'm dressed today, including bra, now I feel like I should really go out.

I'm inclined to agree. However it does seem that there are a disproportionately large number of mumsnetters who are very ample of bosom. Or maybe those of us who don't feel that bras are devices of torture just don't post about them?

TheletterZ · 01/04/2020 12:47

Bra free here. Not been well and lungs/ ribs hurt so bra came off.

Thinking of going for non-wired after this (keep seeing lots of adverts). Anyone got any suggestions of good non-wired bras.
