Had enough of 2020 so I'm going back to 1989. I'm off to the under 18s disco to try and snog that fit lad in 5th year who looks like Jason Donovan. Bros is on the radio and I've just back combed my hair and sprayed it solid with insette. I'm wearing Body shop kiwi lip balm and impulse body spray. Anyone coming ?

Me too. I'm just putting my electric blue mascara on with matching eyeliner!

ShadowKitty · 19/03/2020 20:33

@Satonloo can I borrow your Heather Shimmer? I'll lend you my Sun In.

@lamppostdog I'll have some Mad Dog - I've got a ten pack of Regal King Size too, you can have two's.

PinkDaydreams · 19/03/2020 20:41

Can I go back to the nineties so I can pick up a copy of smash hits magazine with the free inflatable spice girl!
It’s the school disco and I’m wearing my lime green bell bottoms with striped lime green top and super shiny black platforms!

lamppostdog · 19/03/2020 20:42

We can drop you off in 1997 @PinkDaydreams

That’ll do me, I was 10 then!
Sun in!!!! I remember my mum putting some in my hair for me, I don’t remember it working though?

@HerRoyalCarbyLess I’m intrigued to know your plans?!

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 19/03/2020 20:55

pink well for a start I would absolutely have stayed in school, but would stick up for myself much better.
I wouldn't get pregnant at 16, (as long as I can have the same kid when I do eventually have kids! I quite like him) but would quite enjoy my pissed up youth again.
I would become a bit more stabby brave and not just go with the flow. Be hated for being a feminist, instead of "a slag" which is what I was known as because I was raped and confided in a friend who then spread it around that I wasn't a virgin

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 19/03/2020 21:01

I'm a bit older than you lot, I'm at university (no-one called it 'uni' then), in a leather jacket I got from Camden Lock, with short spiky hair dyed purple with a tub of Crazy Color I got from Kensington Market, a velvet mini-dress and pointy pixie boots. If it's lunchtime I'm drinking a half of lime and soda in a plastic skiff from the student union bar. I'm a bit of a saddo hippy/goth, unaware that the 1989 rave scene is about to explode but I'll miss it because I'll be abroad. Winter of 89-90 I'm dancing in a club in a French ski resort to Ride on Time.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 19/03/2020 21:03

Drop me off in october 1999, will you?

Bluewater1 · 19/03/2020 21:04

Can I join you, I am in my Madonna mad phase so I am wearing lace gloves and black lace to tie my hair up in a big bow. I may casually wear braces with my jeans but slightly loose and with badges on them

user1498572889 · 19/03/2020 21:05

I am going to put a white stripe on my nose before I go out. 😂

SallyLovesCheese · 19/03/2020 21:11

I'm 8 years old. I have a scrunchy in my hair and dancing to Black Lace songs at school discos, wearing a leotard as a top with a short skirt.

Then I'm going home and playing with my Sylvanian Families or watching My Little Pony on VHS!

geordiema77 · 19/03/2020 21:29

'89? I am right there wearing my black shoes with Grolsch bottle tops on the laces trying to catch the eye of the fit lad in the L6th who is in the school's 1st XV. You know, the one with the floppy hair?

De La Soul and Soul II Soul providing the soundtrack to the 16th birthday parties that spring/summer as well. Mint it was.

ALongHardWinter · 20/03/2020 01:13

I'm going back to November 1981 when I'd just turned 18. I was having SUCH a brilliant time.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 20/03/2020 01:38

I’m 25 and all grown up. I’m in London in a good job I enjoy. My student gothiness has faded to hippy/prototype grunge but I look the best I’ve ever looked in my life.

I’ve just bought my ticket for Glastonbury this summer where I’m going to meet DH and fall in love at first sight.

Idontownatoiletpapermountain · 20/03/2020 03:31

Oh I'm going to the mid 90's then please.

I've ironed my hair, am wearing a crop top and have gone to meet some friends. I am wearing Impulse Vanilla Kisses. Called my friends before hand, hopefully they are on time so I don't have to find a phone box!

PinkDaydreams · 20/03/2020 06:22

@HerRoyalCarbyLess oh I’m sorry sorry you had to go through that. Let’s get you dropped off so you can sort things. That ‘friend’ sounds vile, truly wicked, karma will have played a part in her life since though.

MinnieMountain · 20/03/2020 07:15

1984 please. Life was idyllic when I was 5. All I remember is running between DF's farm and DGP's house down the lane, playing outside and being with DGM in her big kitchen.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 20/03/2020 07:32

@HerRoyalCarbyLess Flowers I hope things got better for you.

Me I’d go back to my 21st 1986. Getting off with the boy of my dreams - just the one night. But oh that night!

StarlightLady · 20/03/2020 08:46

Can we ho further back into time? I’d love a day at a busy ancient Roman baths!

Full spa works plus!

lubeybooby · 20/03/2020 08:57

I wanna go back to summer 1985. I was 5 and played out all day every day and it seemed endless. It was a blast

GeraltOfRivia · 20/03/2020 09:17

I'm off forward to 2030. Wanna see if the world is still around...

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 20/03/2020 10:25

Oh yeah things got better. I've got three amazing kids now .

Another thing I've always wanted to do is become a serial killer. Yes yes, I'm aware that sounds mental.
But I really want to know how it feels to have that power over someone's life. I'd also like to see how long I could outwit the police for.
But alas, it is not to be. (A good thing really) as I have the kids to think about and also don't think I'd cope well in prison what with being autistic.

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 20/03/2020 10:44

I'll come back 1989 but I'll only be 4. Life was goooooood.

BigFatLiar · 20/03/2020 10:51

Late fifties for me. Just missed it first time. Early r&r, full skirts, stiff petticoats that would knock things of the coffee table as you passed. Dancing, coffee, first burger bars. Having to be careful (no pill).

QuestionableMouse · 20/03/2020 10:51

I was also four in 1989. Long days playing in the garden with my dog and baby sister (who was two).
