Very useful info for regular train travellers

I've just seen this and thought I'd pass it on to others.
My older kids and I travel on trains sometimes so this is going to be useful in an emergency.

Very useful info for regular train travellers

Oh that's very usefull thank you .

I use trains a fair bit late at night so it would be reassuring

UYScuti · 28/02/2020 11:31

Good to know thank you OP😊👍

MrsApplepants · 28/02/2020 11:32

This is really useful - thanks!

Likethebattle · 28/02/2020 22:42

This has been available for years in Scotland. I’m actually sick of the slogan ‘see it, say it, sorted’ it’s advertised continually every day and has been for at least the last 5 years.

bookmum08 · 28/02/2020 22:46

Yeah that's hardly new.

PixieDustt · 28/02/2020 22:53

OP didn't say it was new she put it out there incase other people didn't know.

bookmum08 · 28/02/2020 23:00

OK point taken. But for regular train travellers surely this is just general knowledge like in order to travel you must have a ticket. I can understand promoting it to non regular train travellers.

susandelgado · 28/02/2020 23:12

Thank you! Have saved no. 😊

strawberrylipgloss · 28/02/2020 23:13

I've never seen it advertised and thought there might be someone else in the same boat.

ExpletiveDelighted · 28/02/2020 23:21

I've seen it but never given it much thought till this week when I saw a story about someone using it successfully to report an assault (train was stopped and suspect arrested). I think I might programme it into my phone.

ThickSock · 28/02/2020 23:23

It might not be new but I wasn’t aware of this so thanks for the thread. Good to know.

BackforGood · 28/02/2020 23:24

Thanks OP
Ignore those who can't post without saying something negative Hmm

I have asked my dd to put it in her phone for her late night train rides.

bookmum08 · 28/02/2020 23:54

Apologies for sounding negative. However as a regular train user this is something advertised at pretty much every station I have been too and on the trains themselves. The message appears on the train information ticker and the computerised voice tells you about it over and over. If the OP wants to pass the message on to people the thread title should be perhaps aimed at people who don't travel on trains regularly.

redeyetonowheregood · 29/02/2020 03:05

Oh get over yourself bookmum.i am a regular train user and am happy to be reminded of this as it isn't prevalent on the trains I use or at the stations I commute from. Or if it is, I have become immune to it.

Jojo19834 · 29/02/2020 03:16

I’m a regular train user and didn’t know this, so no, not everyone pays attention to the ticket banner running on the train, especially as a regular I know where I am by sight. Thank you OP

HollyBollyBooBoo · 29/02/2020 03:23

Thanks Op, never knew this and have never seen it advertised.

CountessAlexandrovna · 29/02/2020 03:28

That’s handy, thanks.

Cakes4Teatime · 29/02/2020 03:46

I wasn’t aware either. Have just saved the number and will share with Dd.

TheSeventeenth · 29/02/2020 03:55

It’s not on the train banners that I am on nor have I seen it before, really useful I have save to my phone. Thank you.

marcopront · 29/02/2020 04:15

I think it must depend what line you travel on because I was on a Chiltern Line train in January and it was announced frequently.

DianaT1969 · 29/02/2020 04:23

I'm a regular train user and knew there was a number, but didn't know what it was. The campaign for this is a disaster 'see it, say it, sort it'. Communications courses should study this as an example of what not to do when running an awareness campaign. The number, if mentioned at all, doesn't stick because it's drowned out by this overused, inane sh*te and we're all trying to zone out from it.
I probably hear it 10 times a day. Not much good if I don't know the number, is it?

everybodypuuuuulllll · 29/02/2020 04:35

WTF?

I've been a regular train traveller since long before texting existed. Never heard of this.

Bookmum are you having difficulty understanding that other people's experiences can be different to yours?

PatricksRum · 29/02/2020 04:40

I agree with @bookmum08
I think they even announce it on some trains? Certainly on the platforms, along with posters and TV adverts etc.
Not a negative thing though to inform those who don't know Smile

BossAssBitch · 29/02/2020 04:42

Very useful. Thank you.

WhatShe5aid · 29/02/2020 04:50

Thanks, change of job means I'm going from bus to train so I'll make a note of this. Thanks for sharing.
