Best Mother's Day activities/gifts?

Hi all

We're writing a page rounding up ideas of what to do on Mother's Day (Sunday 22 March 2020) and thought you might be best placed to ask :) What's been your favourite Mother's Day activity, outing or gift you've received (or given) - and why?

Thanks!

We usually go out for lunch the day before with the DC, their partners and the DGC, so that the partners can see their DMs on Mothers' Day. It's the best thing in the world to have all the family together.

Due to distance, myself and my sister have driven several hours to do a pre mothers day afternoon tea locally to our mum. She has enjoyed our company without our children and partners distracting us and it has been a lovely weekend.
Hopefully DS12 will make me coffee and some sort of breakfast on the day as DP will be away...

One of my favourites was going to the Mothering Sunday church service when my two were little - the children present their mums with a daffodil and ds2 who was about 18 months old spent the whole service bashing my poor mum on the head with his daffodil. It was very sweet though.

Now I spend Mother's Day morning standing on a rugby pitch instead. I don't enjoy it any less though😊

Wedgewood museum, we threw pots and my mum has the two small jasper wear vases we made. It was a lovely activity and day, and a really nice personal momento/gift.

Something surprising. I always surprise my mom. She is too much old. Pray for her.

Anything that involves thought and/or effort rather than expense is a hit with me.
For example Dh and I recently celebrated a big wedding anniversary. We went out for the day and on our return our teen Dd surprised us with cocktails and fairy cakes.
It really made my day.

I often buy DM a potted rose from David Austin - that way I know its a good plant and she can enjoy it on the day and then put it in the garden and enjoy it thereafter.
