And did it live up to your expectations?

Mine was the food shop. I used to go with my mum and wonder why she was filling the trolley with boring items when she could be buying ice cream and pizzas.

I couldn't wait till I could buy my own food.
Safe to say I soon realised it wasn't all that fun and planning weekly meals for 5 on a budget is a headache.

I wanted to have a dog. I have had two.

I had my dream dog, a yellow labrador, for 15 years until he diedof old age last November. He was a brilliant dog. My greatest friend and I miss him so, so much. I may have another one one day.

I still have a cocker spaniel, who is lovely but is now also elderly.

I had a cat too for nearly 17 years. He was brilliant too, and one hell of a feisty character.

I also always hoped to get married and have children. I managed that too and wouldn't be without any of them.

My life has had ups and downs of course, but overall I have achieved much of what I would have hoped and I am happy.

Not cooking new potato’s. Having my hair the colour I wanted. Wearing what I wanted. Bit drying lettuce, said when I was a grown up I would buy Pre-packed. Not eating new potatoes

The results - dye my hair often, it is purply pink. West what U want, remember my Mum saying that Zi wasn’t allowed a fake leather skirt cause they were common, I have several. I rarely buy lettuce that isn’t Pre-packed and if I do I eat the inner leaves so I don’t have to wash it. I will eat new potatoes roasted not plain

Reading in bed as late as I wanted.
Eat whatever I wanted.
Live by the sea.
I now live by the sea
I'm really fat from eating what I want
and I'm permanently tired as I spent half the night reading instead of sleeping guess I should've listened to my mother after all!

I couldn't wait til i had grown up teeth so i could leave bite marks in my toast like my mum. Grin

My mum hated her two front teeth.

I would also be able to pick a grown up sweetie at the shop, like a whole Mars Bar or a packet of Mintolas.

I was so glad to have power over my own life. Where I lived was really important to me and it had always been dictated by my parents so it was good to be able to live where I wnated.

No school and freedom

I wanted to have my own garden. From childhood through 10 years or so of uni and living in shared houses in my first few jobs. It was utter bliss when I bought my first tiny house with a postage stamp sized garden.
