Hoping someone can advise, thinking about Blackpool, Legoland, Alton towers, drayton manor, and head is spinning! Can your recommend the best theme park type places in the UK to take little ones to in May. Will stay the night if that makes a difference

Not on your list but my then 2 year old loved Cbeebies land at Alton towers when we went last summer. They have different themed rooms (also stargazing pods) and toddler friendly restaurants.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 17/02/2020 13:40

At that age two loved Thomas Land at Drayton Manor, Peppa Pig World at Paulton’s and Gulliver’s Land.

Mossyfern · 17/02/2020 13:41

Gullivers maybe? Some bits are a tad run down and there any m/any "big rides" but it's cheaper and has lots for little ones. We've been to the Matlock and Warrington ones, the latter is bigger.

I'd try Peppa pig land in the new forest. It also has bigger rides for older children and adults. If I remember rightly it's in beautiful surroundings.

halcyondays · 17/02/2020 13:41

Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park is great if they like Peppa.

Mossyfern · 17/02/2020 13:41

There aren't* any

DeltaFlyer · 17/02/2020 13:42

Sundown adventureland

CallofDoodee · 17/02/2020 13:43

Peppa Pig World/Paulton's Park for sure.

Bunnybigears · 17/02/2020 13:44

At that age you really cant go wrong with Gullivers (any of them)

mrsnec · 17/02/2020 13:44

Mine went to LEGOLAND at 3 and 4 and absolutely loved it. Inlaws took them though. I'm not in the UK and when we do visit we prefer smaller farm park type places. They like Pennywell in Devon and Farmer Palmers in Dorset. We're looking at Poultons and Longleat for our next trip.

Mamabear88 · 17/02/2020 13:46

Another vote for Gullivers. I LOVED it there when I was a kid.

sixtimes · 17/02/2020 13:47

Another vote for Peppa - it's fab! Your two are the perfect age.

MiddleClassProblem · 17/02/2020 13:52

I had heard Legoland was really shit. We took DD at 3 and 4 years old on half price vouchers and honestly we all loved it. Going during term time (and as luck would have it rainy days both time for us) meant it was much quieter so we didn’t have to queue much plus a few rides they let us just stay in for another go.

Wherever you go, make the most before your 4 year old starts school and go when it’s quiet x

edwinbear · 17/02/2020 13:57

Legoland or Paulton's Park.

Shesellsseashellsontheseashore · 17/02/2020 15:10

Thomas land in drayton manor is very good. There are even some rides in the main theme park that they could go on such as the carousel. The train takes you from Thomas land up to the zoo section and there are further amusements there. The hotel is good just across the carpark from the theme park and you can get stay and play deals usually.

FaFoutis · 17/02/2020 15:12

Sundown. Mine loved it.

Bluewavescrashing · 17/02/2020 15:14

Paultons Park (home of peppa pig world) is the best UK Park we've been to. Trumps Merlin parks every time.

WishUponAStar88 · 17/02/2020 15:17

We’ve been to all the ones on your list but like Chessington best. Lots is heavily Julia Donaldson themed which helps with a Gruffolo obsessed toddler. We’ve been a couple of times and stayed (cheaply) in the Premier Inn next door. It’s also a doable walk to the train station with toddlers to get into London to see the sights.

AJPTaylor · 17/02/2020 15:17

Legoland is great if you can do a warm dry day in term time.

Folicky · 17/02/2020 15:21

Peppa Pig World.... hands down

Squaffle · 17/02/2020 15:44

Chessington! Has a zoo and an aquarium as well as rides for little ones... Gruffalo ride was a hit last time, I think they have a new Room on the Broom one as well.

Gertie75 · 17/02/2020 15:53

Paultons park is the best, super clean too, there are two splash pads so take swimming costumes.

Drayton Manor is also good it has Thomas land plus a zoo, indoor soft play and outdoor park equipment.

Cbeebies was our least favourite, it's not particularly big and there's nothing outside of that section of the theme park for small kids.

I have a 4 year old myself and she'd be bored at cbeebies but too small for the bigger rides in Alton Towers.

milliefiori · 17/02/2020 15:55

Legoland and Chessington

Bobbybobbins · 17/02/2020 16:07

Gulliver's or Thomasland are both great for littlies

Lulu1919 · 17/02/2020 16:16
