I'm in bed after an op - what shall I watch on telly?

I'm in bed for the week after a minor op - please can you recommend me good telly or films?

I have Netflix and Prime, not Sky.

Don't like fantasy. Am enjoying The Stranger and also howling with laughter at This Country. Also loved crime docs eg The Staircase.

Please tell me what you've loved recently!

I’m watching old films.

Yesterday was Three Coins in a Fountain (recorded from tv last week).

Perfect viewing.

Crazy Ex Girlfriend is the only possible answer to this question Grin

emma123456 · 11/02/2020 14:47

New Amsterdam on Prime. Love it

Standrewsschool · 11/02/2020 14:47

The GoneShow on BB1 was good. Some episodes were better than others.

springrollover · 11/02/2020 14:47

This Is Us, you won't need anything else. It's the best series I have ever seen. Totally enthralling.
The Affair, brilliant

PhoneTwattery · 11/02/2020 14:48

If you haven't seen them already:

Line of Duty (I wish I could binge watch them again for the first time)
After Life
Happy Valley
Royle Family

FaithInfinity · 11/02/2020 14:48

Yes otterses! I am jealous of people who get to watch it for the first time! Still listen to the songs when I’m cleaning Grin

nowlook · 11/02/2020 14:49

OP, I think we have similar tastes. If you haven't yet watched This Is Us (as recommended by PP), do that!

otterses · 11/02/2020 14:50

@FaithInfinity

Grin SAME! You've made me feel so much more normal.

DartmoorChef · 11/02/2020 14:50

I just started to watch Virgin river on Netflix and that is quite good.

bravotango · 11/02/2020 16:01

Friends is on Netflix

Also Workin Moms is great

Agree with above PP's recommendation of This is us!

FaithInfinity · 11/02/2020 17:49

Loving CEG is like being part of a special club. Not everyone appreciates the magic but some of us will love it forever! I’m sad that it’s over but the ending was exactly what I thought it should be.

Growingboys · 12/02/2020 06:36

These are all AMAZING!

Thank you so much - shall begin on this list today!

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 12/02/2020 09:20

Brooklyn 99. Completely inaccurate on the NYPD, but incredibly funny. Andre Braugher does a brilliant turn as Captain Holt, the ultra civilised gay precinct commander: "look at me drinking Beaujolais from a Sauternes glass like an animal".

Paperyfish · 12/02/2020 09:24

Santa Clarita diet ( bit gory, but funny) on netflix or sex education. Or Anne with an e.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/02/2020 09:25

The Split, series 1 and 2, all on iPlayer.

Spartonian · 12/02/2020 09:25

Amazon Prime - New Amsterdam

Zoey92 · 12/02/2020 10:03

I'm in a similar situation as you OP and thank you for whoever recommended 'This is Us' I'm absolutely loving it!

misscockerspaniel · 12/02/2020 10:30

Different genre to those (excellent) ones above but I love Million Dollar Listing: LA (ITVBe currently on ITV Hub).
