Hi

Just wanting to know if you would attend a kids party on Mother’s Day at lunch time?

Thanks

No chance. I want to spend mother’s day with my child/mum, not everyone else’s.

Adviceplease1234 · 30/01/2020 10:34

No I wouldn't unless it was a very close friend and even then I wouldn't stay long.

AudacityOfHope · 30/01/2020 10:40

Yes, but then I don't care about Mother's Day really.

No.

TrippingOnSunshine · 30/01/2020 10:53

Yeah no problem. As long as I get my cup of tea in bed and my ferrero rochers I'm good, the rest of the day is normal!

Nope

AuntieMarys · 30/01/2020 10:59

Wouldn't bother me...I never did Mothers Day

ItIsAllChange · 30/01/2020 10:59

No.

BendingSpoons · 30/01/2020 11:00

Yes I wouldn't be bothered but expect lots would, especially at lunch time. I'd probably use it as a good reason to send DH to the party and chill at home!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 30/01/2020 11:01

Yes I would (my mum is deceased, MIL doesnt live in the UK, and Im happy with a coffee and a lie in), but I would never host one on Mother's day!

Nursing83 · 30/01/2020 11:02

Yeah wouldn't bother me at all, I wouldn't intentionally pick that day though as I imagine a few mums would have other plans.

shamelessfamilyoverroad · 30/01/2020 11:02

Wouldn't bother me at all.

CwtchesCuddles · 30/01/2020 11:04

No - as I would be visiting family.

It's not a great day for a kids party as lot's of people are likely to be busy after all it is the busiest day of the year in the hospitality trade for Sunday Lunch.

NerrSnerr · 30/01/2020 11:05

Yes I would.

SueEllenMishke · 30/01/2020 11:08

I wouldn't. Everyone I know does lunch for mother's Day.

We'd possibly consider it if it was in the morning but nothing beyond lunchtime.

catanplayer · 30/01/2020 11:17

Wouldn't bother me at all. Don't really care about Mother's Day.

underneaththeash · 30/01/2020 11:24

Nope. We were invited to one last Father's Day and declined as did all the other parents in DD's year. They rescheduled.

Butterfly02 · 30/01/2020 11:24

I've changed the date of ds party for this reason (didn't realise when I booked). It wouldn't bother me however I felt it may bother some parents and ds would be upset if a specific few didn't come.

FunkyBrownie · 30/01/2020 11:24

We went to one last year - which also happened to be the day the clocks went forward so we'd all lost an hour of sleep!

Lots of jokes made about what a 'lovely' present it was for all the Mum's attending and the party girl's Mum was so apologetic that it was the only date that had worked for their family, but we were all still there; pretty much the whole class was. It was finished by 12.30 though so we had time to go home and do something else together. (Party Mum put on a pretty impressive spread of coffee and pastries for the adults which helped lol!)

CorneliusBeefington · 30/01/2020 11:30

No, it's mothering Sunday at church and then it'll be spent with family.

ExpletiveDelighted · 30/01/2020 11:31

Yes, we've never gone out for lunch on Mother's Day, it wouldn't be a problem at all. Same for Father's Day.

Seasonalanxiety · 30/01/2020 12:03

No

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 30/01/2020 12:06

One DDs birthday is approx father's Day, the others Mother's Day. I go to the other weekend around their birthdays, but it is restrictive... Esp as we do t usually celebrate either as DH always seems to get sent abroad or on course on their birthdays!

HoneyBee03 · 30/01/2020 12:06

Yep. I don't think I've ever done anything for Mother's Day and don't know anyone who does.
