OP posts:
wibblysnail · 27/01/2020 21:00

Blue Riband because that's what it says. I always thought it was a stupid name.

lilgreen · 27/01/2020 21:09

Blue Riband..... errr........ it’s on the packet.Grin

OverByYer · 27/01/2020 21:10

I call it a wafer biscuit

ItsGoingTibiaK · 27/01/2020 21:14

It's the Mandela effect

I don't think people are misremembering. I think people who incorrectly call it Blue Ribbon have always incorrectly called it Blue Ribbon. They're probably the same people who say 'expresso', 'mischeev-i-ous' and 'should of'.

Mumbassa · 27/01/2020 21:17

Ribbon

WheresTheEvidence · 27/01/2020 21:24

I honestly always thought they were called Blue Ribbons. Don’t think I ever looked at the packaging properly

hazeyjane · 27/01/2020 21:29

Disappointment.

isthispuddinoramalang · 27/01/2020 21:29

Is that the caramel wafer? Makes a cuppa go down a treat!

isthispuddinoramalang · 27/01/2020 21:34

Sorry, that was Grey Dunn

JaneJeffer · 27/01/2020 21:50

According to Debrett's it's Blue Riband.

Littlejets · 27/01/2020 22:02

Itsgoing It was just a fun comment...but I certainly have the memory of it being 'Ribbon' as do my siblings. Clearly our memories don't serve us well lol.

ofay · 27/01/2020 22:13

Ick-ea I don't like, but I get.

Blue ribbon, how is that an option?

Stravapalava · 27/01/2020 22:17

We call it Blue Riband, but pronounce the riband "rye-band".

MyDcAreMarvel · 27/01/2020 22:19

They're probably the same people who say 'expresso', 'mischeev-i-ous' and 'should of'.
Don’t be so ridiculous.

Geometricprince · 27/01/2020 23:07

Blue riband. More importantly though why can you still get these pointless dusty bars but not the awesome 54321?

raspberrymolakoff · 27/01/2020 23:09

CraftyCorvid
You are not alone but I think it WAS called Nestles (no accent) in the past, for instance the milky bar kid song went "nestle's milky bar". I think it was always

Nestlé with the accent on the continent, isn't it a Swiss company? Eventually we were clearly deemed sophisticated enough to cope with it spelt and pronounced properly!

IHaveBrilloHair · 27/01/2020 23:13

Ribband of course.

Thelnebriati · 27/01/2020 23:31

Blue wafers, as in 'do you want blue or pink wafers'.

Linnet · 27/01/2020 23:45

I say Blue riband. My dh says blue ribbon. Either way I don’t like them so don’t buy them or eat them if offered one.

saraclara · 28/01/2020 00:01

It is definitely Blue Ribbund. I can't believe how many people have been saying ribbon all their life, despite the words on the packaging being entirely clear. There a d on the end, people!

CooCooCoo · 28/01/2020 00:05

Is that the caramel wafer? Makes a cuppa go down a treat

Nothing beats a Tunnock Caramel Wafer. Nothing.

These Ribands are ... awful

Pieceofpurplesky · 28/01/2020 00:12

I call them 'ugh' horrible papery flaky things that leave me with a dry mouth and chocolate craving completely unsatisfied!

The Nestles things changes in around 1988 when they were having trouble and someone on the news said Nest Lays ... I was temping there at the time and it was all anyone could talk about

Nomorechips · 28/01/2020 00:21

What is a riband anyway? Grin

Nomorechips · 28/01/2020 00:24

Surely if it was ribbon there would be a picture of a blur ribbon on the packet?? Now someone will come along saying we'll there isn't a picture of a double decker on a double decker is there?!!! Misses the point totally... I'll get my coat...
