I’d buy land close to where I live, and have one of those Nordic modular homes built with the rooms we need and like.

Clawdy · 17/01/2020 12:16

I'm keeping the house we've just moved to, but buying:
For us, a cottage in the Lake District.
For DS a house on a lovely street near to where his rented bedsit is now.
For younger DS and his family, a big house with big garden, near to us!
For DD a Victorian house in the area she loves.

I love the London flat but the one by the coast ,no.

My Lottery Dream Home changes every week Grin

BarkandCheese · 17/01/2020 12:26

A crash pad in London’s west end so I can go and see shows and not have to worry about the length of the train journey home.

A beach house in Florida.

My semi detached neighbours house (I’ll offer her twice the current market value) because I like where I live but it would be nice to knock through and have more space.

A serviced retirement flat or bungalow for MIL in the village she used to live in and wants to move back to but can’t afford to.

Chocolatedaim · 17/01/2020 12:39

I’m buying a chateau in south of France and moving there full time.
I will probably buy an apartment in Shinjuku and another one in Oakland (San Francisco)

I will run a little day nursery from my chateau to keep me ticking over. 😀

MulticolourMophead · 17/01/2020 12:54

House at the end of my road. It's a lovely Victorian house but sadly converted to offices. I'd buy it, gut it and revert to a residential house. Would be at least 5 bedrooms. It's the location, too. 5 min walk into town, parking, garden, etc.

I'd also buy a holiday home somewhere, perhaps Cornwall, also a home in the US for visiting friends. Possibly one in the far east, to explore the area.

HollowTalk · 17/01/2020 12:55

Sorry, OP, but your city crash pad looks like a Harvester pub!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 17/01/2020 13:07

I’m buying a chateau in south of France and moving there full time Id do this if I could get Angel and Dick to fix it up for me!!!

WhatchaMaCalllit · 17/01/2020 13:14

I'd definitely buy that London flat @OnlyFoolsnMothers - especially if it came with the fully stocked winery (like in photo 6)!!!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 17/01/2020 13:20

WhatchaMaCalllit this house is gorgeous!!!!

This. I used to live near there and love this house.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 17/01/2020 13:22

I loved the aerial view of this place but when you get to the interior pictures, I am a bit aghast - www.myhome.ie/residential/brochure/drayton-manor-three-mile-water-brittas-bay-co-wicklow-a67-yr79/4349341

I never knew there were so many people in Ireland who have installed their own cinemas in their homes:

Davespecifico · 17/01/2020 13:26

I’m not telling you. I don’t want any begging letters.

SandAndSea · 17/01/2020 13:29

OP, I like the look of your Cornwall house - very nice! But, overall, this is something that DP and I disagree on as I really don't want to have to maintain and worry about lots of properties. He thinks we're getting staff to deal with it all but I'm not managing them either. I would like a PA but I think I'm going to use one of those companies where there's a team of people helping in the background.

I think I'm going to buy one house, something like your my Cornwall pad. I'm also looking to buy lots of land for woodland. And, I'm planning to rent places for 6 month stints all over the world, so I can travel, with all the comforts of home.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 17/01/2020 13:32

WhatchaMaCalllit agreed you'd have to do a gut renovation inside.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 17/01/2020 13:34

SandAndSea i think 3 properties is my max-definitely fully staffed....maybe buy lots of everyday houses to rent out- but leave in the hands of managing agent and accountant.

EmmiJay · 17/01/2020 13:37

I want this one 😌 its perfect for me and DD with extra guest rooms (I love a guest room!!!!) I'd buy out the people next door so DM could move in there instead 🤣 www.onthemarket.com/details/8169598/

fastliving · 17/01/2020 13:38

Large house where I am now with room for a few rescue horses (someone else can muck them out)
City Mews for when I'm in London
Big family beach house in Rock, Cornwall.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 17/01/2020 13:41
