Best website to use? I've had varying degrees of success with that but I want something really lovely and not ridiculously expensive! Any suggestions?

I use Interflora ALOT. About 5-6 times a year, both Uk wide and internationally and have never ever had a problem. The flowers are always beautiful, for a small fee you can sign up for a year's free delivery (I think a tenner). and they are reliable.

AmelieTaylor · 10/01/2020 19:01

Google a florist near the recipient and use them. Far better service & flowers than inter flora type set ups.

Bloom & Wild works for me!

FrenchFancie · 10/01/2020 19:09

I like bloom and wild, I bought dm a flower subscription for Christmas, so far they have been good

ParkheadParadise · 10/01/2020 19:09

I also Google a florist near the recipient and check reviews.

Duchessofealing · 10/01/2020 19:10

Agree bloom and wild are fantastic - there’s a referral thread on the Christmas board and you can save £10 on your first order.

BrusselPout · 10/01/2020 19:10

I also like bloom and wild

Beefcurtains79 · 10/01/2020 19:13

Floom are amazing, really beautiful flowers.

BinkySodPlop · 10/01/2020 19:17

For many years, I was very naive, and didn't know you could contact the local florist direct, and get them to do it. It seems so obvious, but Hmm. Do this if you know somewhere local to the recipient. The big nationals (Interflora / Moonpig etc..) probably have decent flowers, but you'll pay a lot for them.

DramaAlpaca · 10/01/2020 19:19

I'd also recommend calling a florist local to the recipient. You get much more for your money.

bananasandwicheseveryday · 10/01/2020 19:20

I've used several companies over the years as well as being the recipient. By far the best quality flowers I've received were from Bloom and Wild. Ideas so impressed that they will be my choice when I need to send flowers in future.

wowfudge · 10/01/2020 19:32

Go direct to a local florist - much better value for money. I used to be a florist. I think Bloom and Wild looks expensive for the flowers they supply.

eggsandsoldiers · 10/01/2020 19:44

Bloom and wild do beautiful arrangements, but I could get something similar for 5x bigger and half the price from my local florist, who I found on Facebook.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 10/01/2020 19:46

www.flyingflowers.co.uk I use them quite frequently & recipients always delighted.

greenlavender · 10/01/2020 20:14

Bloom & Wild are great

MaxPaddyandHarry · 10/01/2020 20:20

My friend sent me some Bloom and Wild flowers and they were a bit disappointing to be honest. I didn't tell her though, obviously.

flowergirl24 · 10/01/2020 20:22

No - please don’t use Bloom and Wild. When you use a company like that, you are buying flowers which have been grown overseas, with poor working conditions and then the flowers are flown (think of the airmiles and damage to the environment). They are also grown with pesticides and chemicals - ever wondered why most international roses don’t have much of a scent compared to your lovely garden roses? Support local and buy from a local grower. There are so many amazing British flower growers who offer bouquet delivery. It’s a vastly superior experience to stiff imported flowers- once you have a British bouquet you will not go back. Check out flowers from the farm to find out where your local grower is.

And, please, please check the origin of your flowers when you buy from the supermarket. Is a bunch of flowers flown in from Kenya overnight really worth the airmiles? Many of us have converted to seasonal fruit and veg and hate the thought of airmiles with veg, so why not with flowers?

Twospaniels · 10/01/2020 20:46

I’ve used Next several times and never been disappointed.

wishingchair1 · 10/01/2020 20:54

freddies flowers are stunning

cortex10 · 10/01/2020 20:56

I received this as a thank you for hosting family on Christmas Day https://www.eflorist.co.uk/the-orient-pr12004 One of the best bouquets I've ever received ( checked details online because I thought they'd spent way too much)

ParkheadParadise · 10/01/2020 21:13

@cortex10
That's beautiful.

AlaskaElfForGin · 10/01/2020 21:15

I'm looking at reviews for local (to the recipient) florists - they live 400 miles from me so unfortunately I can't just pop in for a look. 😂

Then try www.flowersfromthefarm.co.uk

It’s a cooperative, and a bit like the NFU but for flower farmers. There’s a map that you can see to find your local grower. Most of them do amazing arrangements.

flowergirl24 · 10/01/2020 21:35

wishingchair - Freddie’s flowers are some of the worst offenders ecologically speaking.
