Snoring......

Lofari · 08/01/2020 02:21

Can't sleep.
DH is doing an outstanding impression of a pneumatic drill.
Wondering how annoyed he would be if I pelted him with water bombs......

Motherofmonsters · 08/01/2020 02:23

Mine to, let me know if water bombs work as kicking isn't doing much here

SimplyBlue · 08/01/2020 02:24

I have found dh's much easier to deal with since I moved to the spare room

SimplyBlue · 08/01/2020 02:24

Can still hear it from the room I'm in opposite with both doors closed.

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 08/01/2020 02:28

Can you push him off the bed, if it wakes him up just say he rolled off?

BercowsFlamingoFlownSouth · 08/01/2020 03:22

I feel your pain. My ex's snoring was one of the main reasons I ended the relationship. I could hear him two floor away and through ear plugs. Every time I read a thread on snoring it makes me glad to be single.

Does he have sleep apnoea? A trip to the GP is a good idea Thanks

TwoZeroTwoZero · 08/01/2020 03:31

I'd give my right arm to have my own bedroom. I'm back in the living room and have given up on trying to sleep for tonight because h's snoring is so loud. I've tried earplugs, shuffling to get him to move, earphones with white noise and actually telling him to stfu. I even went to bed at hour or 2 before him but he still fell asleep before I did and started snoring straight away. I don't know how he does it but it's like an actual switch goes off in his brain and he's gone. I haven't had a full night in my own bed since before Christmas. He is 3-4 st overweight though and is making an effort to lose it so it will hopefully in a few months. Either that or I smother him.

PawPawNoodle · 08/01/2020 03:32

Mr. Noodle woke himself up on the sofa the other day from his snoring - he told me that he was very angry at me for waking him up by snoring before he realised it was midday and I wasn't home.

20viona · 08/01/2020 03:44

Same I'm fuming. My 6 month old has woken every hour along with this dickhead snoring Iv been awake 4 hours and counting.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 08/01/2020 03:59

He sounds like a cow mooing. Even downstairs I can still hear him. I'd love to be able to go to bed where it's soft, warm and cosy but that racket just annoys me so much that it's impossible to ignore.

Mumof1andacat · 08/01/2020 04:34

Dh also snores. Only have a 2 bed house so no spare room for me to sleep in

notanotherjigsawpiece · 08/01/2020 04:48

Same here - I’m currently awake due to it! I wake him up every time he does it, might as well share the pain Grin

squeekums · 08/01/2020 05:14

I will be your alibi
if you be mine lol

I have dp and the dog. I've left them to the bedroom many nights and go to the lounge.

HeronLanyon · 08/01/2020 05:18

I snore. I do not live with my lovely dp. Separate houses !
Even on holiday we don’t share rooms - makes it expensive but good god we need our own space. My heart goes out to all who can’t sleep elsewhere. Btw I frequently deny snoring but feel emboldened to be truthful under guise of mn anonymity Grin

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 08/01/2020 06:00

I sent mine to the doctors 18 months ago.bit was either that or burying him under the patio. It's a lot better now his inactive thyroid and sleep apnea has been treated

user1480880826 · 08/01/2020 06:30

Why aren’t these men going to see their GPs? It’s really not ok to cause someone else to be sleep deprived. Snoring is not normal or healthy.

Lofari · 08/01/2020 06:54

Wow so many of us sharing the pain!!
I'd love a room of my own. Oh to be able to starfish all night...
I didn't throw water bombs in the end. My poorly DS woke after my last post. I think they were in cahoots.

I am here in support, sitting in silent misery after another ight of his fucking carry on. Shove. Kick. Jab. No impact.
He is trying to lose weight and there is a big difference if he doesn't drink red wine.
I have nothing useful to add

BlindAssassin1 · 08/01/2020 11:00

DP ranges from pneumatic drill sucking all the oxygen out of the room, to irregular mouth breathing lip smacking sounds, like a piece of medical equipment failing. Twelves months of it.

It only used to be when he drank heavily, now its sinus and ear problems, for which he wont see a GP.

I have been told its not fair to wake him up because he has to work, and when he's snoring he's not sleeping deeply anyway. Hmm So he can hear himself snoring but carries on...bat shit logic.

If I escape to the sofa he follows me down within ten minutes to wake me back up and asks me what I'm doing. WT actual F.

Can someone recommend decent ear plugs?

Emmabryant123 · 08/01/2020 11:15

I'm a woman with sleep apnea .
I snored horrifically and used to wake up literally gasping and trying to catch my breath before I got tested for sleep apnea.
I was stopping breathing 39 times a hour in my sleep.
It's not only that men that snore.
I am in my 20's to so not in the typical group for sleep apnea but anyone can have it even kids
Is he tired in the day to ?

DoloresTheDonkey · 08/01/2020 11:16

I snore like that and to stop Mr Donkey's threats of a new patio being built, we moved in to separate rooms.

Life is now blissful and we sleep properly Grin

Lofari · 08/01/2020 11:46

DH works full time and we have 3 kids, youngest is disabled. Safe to say we are always tired here.
If I can get to sleep before him its ok but he is one of those people whose head hits the pillow and he's gone instantly. WTF is that all about? Takes me ages to doze off.

OP posts:
Emmabryant123 · 08/01/2020 12:26

I was like that to .
Would be out in seconds as the sleep I was getting wasn't proper deep sleep as my body would rouse me Everytime I stopped breathing

Tennapenny · 08/01/2020 16:45

Oh @Lofari I feel your pain! We too have 3DC, youngest of which is disabled. My prediction is that their mother will be arrested for murder by Easter! That or she will have run for the hills! I cannot understand these men that won't got to the doctors, so bloody selfish 😡

NerdyBird · 08/01/2020 16:55

I think many people don't go to the dr because they know that quite often the solution is weight loss or less drinking etc and they don't want to do it. But sleep apnea can be very serious. There was a doco about snoring on C5 the other day. One man stopped breathing for about 30s. Doesn't sound much but was quite hard to watch.
DH snores if he's on his back but luckily if I push him he'll roll on his side and stop. My mum snores awfully so my parents have separate rooms now.

Lofari · 08/01/2020 17:18

@tennapenny we can be each others alibi!!
