Feel like I've run out of good podcasts...

Can anyone recommend anything binge-able please? I like true crime, Serial, In the Dark etc and any kind of gripping story - The Drop Out, Doctor Death etc
Feel like I've exhausted the BBC Radio 4 / 5 ones, and I've listened to lots of things I'd not been that bothered about because I was desperate. Are there any gems I might have missed? I need a new podcast for while I do housework!

They walk amongst us.

CallofDoodee · 07/01/2020 20:54

I'm following this with interesting.

I'm trying to find something slightly more highbrow than 'My Dad Wrote a Porno' which is by far my all time favourite!

Justathought2016 · 07/01/2020 20:56

This is so interesting. Hope you don’t mind me asking but as a podcast beginner can you tell me where you download these from ? I have a Podcast App on my phone so do they all automatically download to there ? Or do you get them from different places such as Audible and BBC Sounds ? Thank you

Another recommendation for All Killa No Filla, it’s two female comedians talking about serial killers. I’m addicted!

And you’re dead to me if you are interested in history, it’s horrible history for adults.

That's what I do. Yes you can use separate apps but I find it's easier to keep it all together.

Justathought2016 · 07/01/2020 21:04

Pineapple, thank you 😊

DamnandClasp · 07/01/2020 22:01

This American Life is one of my favourites.
For fun, Fortunately and Older & Wider.

'Heavyweight' is juicy and interesting and hilarious investigative loveliness.

@poorbuthappy if you like 99% Invisible you might also like 'Reply All'

'RadioLab', obviously, but I'm sure you've come across that.

'The Moth' and 'Snap Judgment' are both fabulous for real life storytelling

'Where Should We Begin' with Esther Perel lets you inside her couples therapy sessions

'Death, Sex and Money' is people talking about exactly those three things

And 'Terrible, Thanks For Asking' is heartbreaking and wonderful too

ladybee28 · 07/01/2020 22:26

Ooh, and for a giggle, Grown-Ups Read Things They Wrote As Kids!

LadyEggs · 07/01/2020 22:36

I came on to recommend They Walk Among Us. Fabulous British true crime series with a big following.

namechanged857 · 07/01/2020 23:03

I'm listening to court junkie at the minute it's quite good I enjoy true crime

TheClitterati · 07/01/2020 23:13

A Perfect Storm - about the Chamberlain baby tragedy in Australia.

Those Conspiracy Guys cover huge ranger of topics and are very listenable/ bit sweary though. .

tobee · 07/01/2020 23:26

There are so many good ones, too many to mention. @Twitney I joined two Facebook groups to get even more recommendations: Podcasts We Listen To and True Crime Podcasts. Reddit is good for recommendations too!

Having said that I can't resist mentioning my two latest good listens Your Own Backyard and Stranglers!

IsabelleSE19 · 07/01/2020 23:40

Someone already said it but it wasn't in the list you posted of ones you'd already listened to, so I'll say it again - Death in Ice Valley was absolutely gripping and the music gave me the chills.

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 07/01/2020 23:44

West Cork is an absolute must! It's one of Ireland's most infamous murder cases and the main suspect ends up practically hello make the podcast! Totally addictive!

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 07/01/2020 23:44

*practically helps make the podcast

Katinski · 07/01/2020 23:49

Bookmarking. I've just finished listening to the Cryptoqueen one and I'm ready for some more. Thanks.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 07/01/2020 23:59

Darknet Diaries is great, true-life tales from the dark side of the internet.

HelloMist · 24/01/2020 21:52

Good thread, I'll have to look into some of these for my next podcast!

These have already been recommended, but I'm enjoying Fake Heiress at the moment (took me an episode to get into it as I found the style quite unusual). I liked The Missing Cryptoqueen and 13 Minutes to the Moon.
