Why can't I find a sports bra? What's wrong with me?

I'm 5 ft 6 and a size 10 with 34dd boobs. I swear I cannot find a sports bra that fits. Anywhere. Or that works, ok my boobs are quite saggy but they STILL jiggle about in all the ones I've tried on. Help please!!!

I'd double check your bra size as at a size 10 I would think you dont have a 34 back size (I am a 36 back at size 20/22)

I don't know, I'm the same height as you and a size 12 and I am 34B.

Have you tried Sweaty Betty? I think their bras are the best.

AwfulSomething · 06/01/2020 17:16

Enell do some good sports bras or do what I do a lot...wear 2 sports bras!

I am this size and have a million Sports bras
I live in them

Are you buying the wrong style ones? There’s ones for different intensity work outs
Eg yoga, hiking, jogging etc all require a different level of support.

If you’re running in a low intensity bra you’re going to jiggle.

I have sometimes bought a size too small as an option too.

Also you can get some that go over like a crop top - I find these best.
But then there’s ones that clip like normal bras, I don’t think they support as well

BobbinThreadbare123 · 06/01/2020 17:21

I never have either; 5ft 7, 30HH and I just wear a normal underwired bra with a the racer back clip and a very tight crop top over it.

StillWeRise · 06/01/2020 17:22

I know it won't be popular but M&S have lots of sports bras - you can take dozens into the changing room and try them all on
I have 2 that are actually better than a shock absorber one- due to restricted mobility in 1 arm I can't get it on

Redcrayons · 06/01/2020 17:23

What have you tried?

I wear shock absorber ultimate for running and I don’t jiggle anywhere. I’m FF cup

Bluesheep8 · 06/01/2020 17:26

Tried Matalan, Tesco, asda, Sainsbury's and most recently Aldi. Every time I've been measured im a 34.

dementedpixie · 06/01/2020 17:27

I would definitely measure first. I use panache active underwired, I'm 36GG

dementedpixie · 06/01/2020 17:28

Measure yourself. Some places add extra to the back measurement which makes it too big. Maybe try a branded sports bra

dementedpixie · 06/01/2020 17:29

Get a measuring tape and measure tightly under your bust. Whatever that figure is is your back size

FortyFacedFuckers · 06/01/2020 17:31

Agree about getting measured, I am a 16 and wear 34GG but I love the next high impact ones,

Hope the link works

HotPenguin · 06/01/2020 17:33

I agree it sounds unlikely your are a 34DD as I am around that size and a size 14. When I was thinner, but still a 14, I was 32 DD. Try on sizes like 32E or 30 E. Shock Absorber are good.

MikeUniformMike · 06/01/2020 17:36

In which shops are you being measured? I was first measured about decades ago and was a bit Confused at the small back, large cup, but it worked and I've not looked back.
I would question the 34 DD size if you are a size 10.The back size looks wrong.
Shock Absorber is pretty good, but M&S High Impact sports bras are good too.
Jump and jog on the spot in the changing room when you try the sports bra on. There should be no jiggle.

BabbleBee · 06/01/2020 17:36

Who measured you as a 34?

You’re best to go to a sports shop - Runners Need, Sweat Shop or an independent. Bravissimo also sell sports bras, as do Victoria’s Secret. Shock Absorbers are a popular choice, but you need to play with the sizes as they’re not the same as standard bras.

jomaIone · 06/01/2020 17:54

I think you probably need to look at higher quality ones. Absolutely nothing wrong with supermarket bras for every day use but might need a more robust bra for sports.

nicknamehelp · 06/01/2020 17:59

Its not cheap but Victoria Secrets one keeps my 36D babies under control

Bessiebigpants · 06/01/2020 18:15

Get a shock absorber A size to big round the ribs and a cup size bigger My boobs do not move in a 34 g and I run

Bessiebigpants · 06/01/2020 18:16

I meant small around the ribs 😂

MrsJustDo · 06/01/2020 18:27

I second Sweaty Betty. Expensive but wouldn't go anywhere else for my sports bras now. They have a style for every sport and differing levels of support.

Emma123batmab · 06/01/2020 18:29

Shock Absorber. Mine are much bigger and I’m much smaller in height.

BikeRunSki · 06/01/2020 18:34

First of all, your bra size sounds bigger than a size 10 would be. Secondly, get a spirts bra fitted at a lingerie shop, then tend to fit differently to ordinary bras because they have a different job to do. Thirdly, look at Shock Absorber. They do that size.

Comefromaway · 06/01/2020 18:35

To be blunt, the shops you mention do faux sportswear. Looks the part but not really constructed for serious excercise.

I’m a size 12 and a 32 back. Dd who is a serious dancer and runs/does gym workouts wears different bras depending on the intensity of the excercise. She likes Shock Absorber, Nike, Addidas & Dans-Ez

LuvMyBoyz · 06/01/2020 18:41

Enell. Proper support, we’ll worth the money. I’m huge and run. They do the job.

BikeRunSki · 06/01/2020 18:42

Matalan, Tesco, asda, Sainsbury's and most recently Aldi

These are not sportswear brands. They are fashion brands that sell sporty looking kit. This is ok for leggings and tops, but not for clothing that actually needs to support avd protect your like shoes and bras. Their bras will not provide the support you need.
