I mean, Jehovah's witnesses have a few stalls across the city I live near but they just kind of stand there and wait for you to talk to them, they're not actively preaching.
There used to be a guy who hung outside my bank with a bible yelling at people about the end of the world, but I think he was just unwell.

Ours are 'street angels' too I think. They hand out flip flops, bottles of water and lollies to drunk people. My friend from school used to do it.

@bsc I also thought for a split second that Islington was heaving with helpful Christians!

The only one I've ever known was on my FB.
Did the pastoring once or twice, then made excuses never to do it, and was one of the most grabby, spiteful people I've ever come across.

Our nearest city has an SOS bus staffed by volunteers but it's not church related.

I've seen them in Glasgow really impressed at how they calmed a fight down
several people have said they seem to sort problems with drunks rather than the police who sometimes seem to provoke or annoy them so they have an excuse to arrest; it is so much better if you can persuade people to go home in a taxi rather than slug it out on Sauchiehall street
they sometimes have tinfoil blankets to help those with no coat who've lost their money and think walking 4 miles home will be fine
they are often Christians but it's not an evangelical thing the couple I know that do it are in their 50's and go to Glasgow every third Saturday from about 8pm-4am

@AutumnRose1 - no, they hang out in City Centres / the 'clubbing areas' of a town, and make sure the people get into a licensed taxi, rather than a random car. Or the make them a cuppa and listen to their woes. Offer a tissue and an opportunity for the person to calm down when they have got upset about something - as well as practical things like flip flops, ponchos, tissues, water, etc. Or somewhere to sit in safety while they wait for a loved one to come and fetch them if someone has got separated or got upset, or yes, sometimes had too much to drink.
Also what TeaCupDrama said about calming situations and preventing fights, arrests ,and injuries.

My home town has town pastors a team go to town helping the revellers, making sure they ge home safe, getting help to those that need it, they have calmed down volatile situations as well. Another team do pray in a church at the same time.
We also have some in my current place. Not about preaching, from a Christian point of view or even a humanist it is about helping out our fellow man.
