Tonight I was reading a bedtime story to my dc, and ds1 (7) said
'Mummy, this story really suits your voice. It makes me feel all warm'

Warm and fuzzy feeling right there!!

Anyone else want to share some lovely things their child has said to start the year 😁

I asked my wee boy 6 to pass my glass of juice over earlier and he replied "of course my wee sweetheart" very cute ☺️

SerophenaPickle · 04/01/2020 22:03

I hurt my back and had to see a chiropractor for a few weeks.

Every single day without fail my two year old asks me “how is your back today mama has the doctor fixed it yet?”
And if I say it’s still sore she rubs it and says
“Aw never mind”
If I say it feels better she says
“Yey! That’s so amazing!”

My 3 year old told her baby sister yesterday that she loves her and they will be best friends forever.

My DD aged 3 likes to hold hands with me and her dad and sings a little song that goes "mummy and daddy and DD are best friends!"

cakebythepound1234 · 04/01/2020 22:14

I often get from my DS "mummy that dress is so pretty" or "you look beautiful" if I've made a real effort for a night out. But then on the other hand, on Christmas Eve he told me my legs looked just like the turkey - pale and bumpy! So swings and roundabouts in this house!

emmeline7725 · 04/01/2020 22:18

At bedtime my 5 year old daughter said "I know everyone thinks the Queen is the best girl in the world but I think you are".

Not sure why she thinks the Queen is so popular!

@poppinpink
That's lovely 💕

EnigmaticIcelandShopper · 04/01/2020 22:22

My seven year old DS laughed to himself the other week as I was driving him to school. I asked him what he was laughing about and he replied 'just how funny you are sometimes!' He doesn't do 'I love you'...but this was good enough for me Smile

Legallybleachblonde · 04/01/2020 22:29

My DS5 says 'I love you mummy, I'm never going to let you go'. He also says I have a fat tummy but it's ok, he still loves me 😂

WhichBin · 04/01/2020 22:30

These are lovely, they’re making me warm and fuzzy.

My dd tonight was sweet and it was unexpected as she had been a bit of a turd with me.

DD: [serious voice] mum, I’ve got something REALLY important to tell you. it’s SO important and I really need to tell you.
Me: oh my goodness, what is it, are you ok? (Puts phone down, mutes tv)
DD: I love you soooooooo very much. I’m so glad I got you as a mummy [gives me a big hug]

As I said, she’d been a bit of mare today, so think she was buttering me up for a late night 😉

😭😍

I don’t get many of these moments anymore as I have a gruff 14 year old who would rather I didn’t speak to him!

However, I have a health condition that flares up every now and then and when I am feeling rough, he reverts to calling me Mamma and frequently asks if I’m doing ok and do I need anything?

DelightfulBox · 04/01/2020 22:35

My teen, very recently ... ‘Mum, I know you will always care, keep me safe and never hurt me and Dad’s just Dad’.

Sad but true.

KTCluck · 04/01/2020 22:37

DD(2) was in our bed the other night. She randomly woke, stroked my face and said “I love you soooo much” then promptly fell back to sleep. If only that was the case every time she disturbs my sleep.

Newyearnewme2020 · 04/01/2020 22:52

My 6 year old ds asked me who my grandad is.
I told him I didn't have a grandad as they both died before he was born.
He got up, came over to me, put his arm around me and said "I'm really sorry for you that you never had a grandad".

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 04/01/2020 22:53

“Mummy, I like your furry bottom.”

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 04/01/2020 22:56

A few months ago I was a little upset after a short fling had finished and was having a little cry. DS asked what was wrong and I said oh someone doesn’t want to be my friend anymore he replied ‘how could they not want to be your friend you are the loveliest person in the world’ he was genuinely shocked

My son is 10, yet has special needs. I'm 34.

I lost my dad, when I was 20. (He died, I didn't misplace him)

He died in 2005, and his brother, my uncle made a dvd, with many photos, and music that represented my dad and his personality. I realised before Xmas that I had misplaced it, and my amazing sister, went out of her way to replace it.

I was watching this dvd, a few days after Xmas, and my son came up to me, rubbed my shoulders and gave me a peck on the cheek, and said I hope your okay mummy, you can tell you really miss your daddy, and went back to playing with his toys.

I cried, at his compassion. My son has the mind set of a 6-7 year old due to developmental delays and learning difficulties, and he made my heart swell. ♥️

AudacityOfHope · 04/01/2020 23:01

My son told me that 'because he wants to live a happy life' he's going to live with me forever.

Which is nice and everything but also...nope!

sawyersfishbiscuits · 04/01/2020 23:02

DS (8) has been known to say "I'm really proud of you" if I've made him a good jacket potato with cheese and beans 😂 He's a real gusher and tells us all the time how much he loves us. But the DDs aren't so gushy!

Not my own child but I went into a Reception class to teach them for the afternoon and they weren't expecting me, one little one with such surprise and delight just said loudly "but it's Mrs Sawyer, I love you!" 😍 Wee poppet!

ironicname · 04/01/2020 23:05

When dd1 was seven and watching Brother Bear with her sisters I overheard her say "if Daddy turned into a bear I would turn into a bear too because I love him that much".

sweetheartyparty · 04/01/2020 23:11

I went to my DD aged 3 nativity play with my MIL. Her role joined part way through the play and as she went on stage, she looked for me, gave me a wave and shouted 'Hi mammy, hi Granny I love you' it made my heart soar and still does when I think about it

pastabest · 04/01/2020 23:17

When my eldest (3yo) gets very tired (or on the very very rare occasions she's poorly) she comes and cuddles me and says 'I just want you mummy'.

It doesn't sound like much but she's a fiercely independent child who doesn't like cuddles usually and most of the time outwardly prefers her dad because he's the fun, non rule setting parent.

But in those moments I know that I am more to her than just a shouty non fun mummy.

My youngest (18mo) loves cuddles and will often stealth cuddle the 3yo which is sweet and hilarious on the rare occasions it doesn't turn into a fight.

Today I thought the 3yo told me I had a pretty bottom.

Turns out she actually said I had a pretty big bottom, and was grumpy because I had knocked her with it slightly as I walked past Blush

BlueSkies2020 · 04/01/2020 23:21

I asked my 4.5 year old daughter what was the best thing about Christmas. She said it was getting baby Jesus in Day 25 of her advent calendar (about a third of it built up a nativity set and the rest was small presents/ activities/ sweets). I was blown away that she understood the true meaning of Christmas. Obviously watching Nativity! approx 50 times on Netflix since November has had an impact.

What a sweetie though!

moonbabyandthebeast · 04/01/2020 23:27

I looked at a top in a shop today but they didn't have my size,no problem,I didn't really need it. When we got home my 3 year old DS offered to share his new toy with me "so I wouldn't be sad that I didn't have anything"
