4.69 - I'm a bad person....

KurriKawari · 31/12/2019 16:58

The three times I've used local taxi firms I've had to give then directions to where I was going!! All known locations.

queenjaneapprox · 31/12/2019 17:29

4.78 - I've normally got the kids who I know drag my rating down - I was on my own today and the driver said he was giving me 5 stars!
How can you see how many trips you've done?

Expressedways · 31/12/2019 17:38

4.87
I take them a lot because I’m lazy and usually running late to work. Blips this year have been the driver that had to be told told to take the exit from the express lane on the interstate then tried to argue about it, the one that tried recruit me to their MLM scam and the one who I made pull over because he refused to put the a/c on and it was 40 degrees.

PlomBear · 31/12/2019 17:39

4.76.

It’s all too weird and Black Mirrorish!

sqirrelfriends · 31/12/2019 18:21

5, I've only used it about 10 or so times though.

Aragog · 31/12/2019 18:29

One ever used it twice, both when there were no other options available to me. I don't have a rating under my name. I assume as not used much and the taxis involved didn't do a review after.

Normally I use the local taxi firm and their app, as do dh and teenage dd. Can pay by card and Apple Pay with that too and they are pretty reliable. I prefer to use them than Uber wherever it is possible.

What I can't be doing with Uber is the whole thing of letting you book your cab, some driver takes it up and then they cancel it - over and over. It is really frustrating!

pemberleypearl · 31/12/2019 18:38

I haven't got one yet and I think it's because I have taken less than 10 trips. Don't often need taxi/Uber

Yes this drives me insane. It never seems to happen to me in central London but where I live (zone 5) it happens quite a bit. Also it happens at airports in my experience, no idea why.

JustCheesz · 31/12/2019 18:59

4.96

I suspect I fell below 5 after we took an Uber that had big signs on each window that said 'DO NOT SLAM THE DOORS'.

DC's got out and slammed the doors!

MyCatsSlave · 01/01/2020 09:15

4.82 Mine went down after the driver waited across a very busy road and it took me a few minutes to cross.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 01/01/2020 09:18

Thought Uber had been banned?
Can’t believe people are still using them.

RiddleyW · 01/01/2020 09:21

No not banned.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 01/01/2020 09:30

I thought they were so bad ( drivers swapping ID cards for example ) that TFL wasn’t renewing their licence.

lovelyupnorth · 01/01/2020 09:31

4.92. Love Uber - don’t have it round here as only have one taxi driver and he’s called Trevor. But used Uber in Uk, US and Canada. Think it’s awesome.

LoudBatPerson · 01/01/2020 09:38

TFL has refused to renew their licence. However as Uber are appealing they can continue to operate during the appeal process.

This only effects London.

I am hoping they (Uber) can get their act together as I find Uber very convenient for myself and our family.

ForalltheSaints · 01/01/2020 09:40

I have never use them and given the alleged reasons as to why their licence in London has not been renewed, would urge you not to use them.

Convenient they may be, but your safe travel is more important.

FiddlesticksAkimbo · 01/01/2020 12:42

The trick of lending out ID cards is done by cab drivers of all varieties, not just uber. Uber has the advantage that when you book on your phone you see a photo of the driver who's registered, so you can check if it's actually him behind the wheel. I use them all the time in London - I've never yet had a mismatch.
