@queenofpain my understanding is the drivers rate you just like you can rate a driver for things like being at the agreed pick up point on time etc. Then if you had a poor rating a driver might decide not to accept your ride.

Do you get a lot of Ubers? I don’t live in an Uber area so my rating isn’t made up of many rides.

I don’t have one, I use local taxis rather than giving all my money to yet another Californian tech company .

My 2020 change to make is going to be to stop using amazon and to start buying locally, purely so that this comment doesn’t make me feel like a total hypocrite

4.78. I know a specific driver rated me down because I saw the rating fall after that ride - we were stuck in traffic for ages and he was annoyed but London traffic is hardly my fault.

I didn't know this was a thing. Bit creepy imo.

I use taxis though. Wouldn't take an Uber if it were free. They have come in and ripped the decent living from many taxi drivers across the uk. Things are different now as they do have to be licensed but when they first arrived it was joe bloggs doing the job

8.1 I'm not sure why. I've always been very polite, never eaten/drunk in cars, don't slam doors and been nice to the driver. I can only think it was because they were annoyed if I'd got a suitcase or they didn't like having to wait in the turning right lane to get to my house because it's just off a big road.

I didn't even know this was a thing, but I've just looked and mine is 4.3...i don't know where I have been marked down, I don't have that many rides and I always try to be out there ready for the taxi etc - am paranoid now!

I do live in a bit of a pain in the arse place to get to, so it could be that, but that's not really something I can help!

Ooh just checked..4.92. Get a lot of ubers due to health issues, always tip, am chatty but have put in the wrong pickup point a couple of times due to stupid gps on phone.

5.0 :) I like Uber, I'm having issues with my regular taxi firm - drivers on the phone, speeding etc that are only getting worse. None of that with Uber, only downside is in one place I need regular taxis from there aren't that many drivers so I usually have to use the other firm.

90% of my Uber use is in the US and I suspect I needed to tip more generously
