Herbal tea that doesnt taste like I've wiped my arse with an old dish cloth then distilled it in puddle water for 3 days?

Thread title too long?

Anyway I vaguely recall finding some tolerable citrus herbal tea last year then promptly switched back to coffees after my virtue ran out.

Can anyone recommend a nice herbal tea? Brew

You want the moon on a stick don't you, there is no such thing. They all smell lovely but taste like shit.

this stuff, currently in canada and it's amazing. a really deep rich flavor.

FelicityBeedle · 28/12/2019 05:36

Try half a spoon of sugar or a drop of honey. Seems to turn those lovely smells into actual flavour

Honeybee85 · 28/12/2019 05:42

Celestial Seasonings is nice
The Honey Vanilla Camomile tastes lovely !

Igmum · 28/12/2019 05:47

Aldi summer fruits

BillywilliamV · 28/12/2019 06:08

Twinings English Breakfast, the tea plant is a herb too and there is a reason people have been brewing it for centuries.
If you really don’t want to drink tea then boiled water over a slice of lemon , cheaper than all those freaky teas as well!

Portulaca · 28/12/2019 06:40

The only one I like is Twinings Lemon & Ginger. All other herbal teas are disgusting imo. I tried a Pukka one recently - something with Turmeric. Was nearly sick.

HelloDoris · 28/12/2019 09:08

Google Bird and blend tea, if there's a shop near you do go in, their herbal teas are amazing!! All the standard shop ones are awful, can't bear twinnings fruit teas they taste nothing like they smell!

CigarsofthePharoahs · 28/12/2019 09:13

I've yet to find one that tastes of anything other than disappointment.
As for green tea - it's lighthouse tea. Blinking near water.

Wallywobbles · 28/12/2019 09:15

Try an actual lemon in a jug of boiling water with real ginger and a cinnamon stick. Top up with boiling water as you drink it. You'll never get another cold which is a bonus.

Wallywobbles · 28/12/2019 09:18

Real ginger aka fresh ginger.

Grasspigeons · 28/12/2019 09:22

Fennel has a strong flavour. I think your description is what black tea tastes like!

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 28/12/2019 09:30

Lemongrass and ginger - Tesco finest is the best one; Morrison's is okay.

bobstersmum · 28/12/2019 09:30

I had to laugh at the title! I must admit I loathed all herbal teas. Until I was bf dd who had colic and I read that drinking fennel tea helped. I drank it by the bucket load for months. I still enjoy one at bedtime now but I also like peppermint tea, spearmint tea is nicer as its sweeter but hard to get hold of, ginger and lemon, a lot of the twinings blends are lovely. I always leave the bag in even while I'm drinking it.

WeirdPookah · 28/12/2019 09:35

@madcatladyforever yup this exact sentiment!

Only sort of herbal drink I have liked was a Yogi one that had cocoa nibs and spices. But thats nearly hot chocolate lol!

Sherloidbaisherloid · 28/12/2019 09:46

Peppermint with one sweetener to take away the bitterness is lovely. I always need a sweetener in herbal teas

Lessstressedhemum · 28/12/2019 10:05

Pukka Peace or Clarity.
Or you could make it yourself with either fresh or dried herbs.

Candlebarbara · 28/12/2019 10:08

Fruit teas are all vile and ive tried quite a bit to like them

Peppermint and chamomile are lovely and i drink one or the other every evening.

GloGirl · 28/12/2019 11:31

Thank you all! Think it was Pukka tea that has been the closest to drinkable, I had completely forgotten.

I'll be trying liquorice and peppermint and some more citrus ones again.

I'll come back and update!

Another vote for the Twining superblend turmeric, orange and star anise. It's delicious.

diveolly · 28/12/2019 11:54

Egyptian liquorice is nice.

I'm not sure if Britain has them but Celestial seasonings, yogi and tazo brands are all good.

Almond sunset is lovely.

Yogi sweet tangerine positive energy is nice too and has caffeine in.

fairislecable · 28/12/2019 12:00

London fruit and herb Company do Blackcurrant Bracer it’s gorgeous (apparently it has a little touch of liquorice in it).

sproutsgalore · 28/12/2019 12:03

They all smell lovely but taste like shit

This made me chuckle. I've virtuously tried quite a few over the years and just can't stand any of them. To me, camomile is the worst. It gives off the aroma of a mouldy old haynet in an abandoned stable.
