39 weeks reduced movements

So I’ve been having reduced movements for about 3 days now. My baby had a routine of kicking every morning, sometimes I’d even wake up at 4am-5am with strong kicks, also if I wouldn’t notice the kicks during the day she would move again at night. Or when I’d walk I’d randomly feel her.
I went and got it checked 2 days ago and they monitored me for 40 minutes, in which I did feel her move but that wasn’t my point. The midwife there was okay with the fact that I felt her for 2 minutes, even if I did explain to her that I still feel her but it’s not as often or as powerful to which she gave me another excuse that my placenta is anterior. My placenta was anterior this whole pregnancy, it didn’t just change overnight, and I still felt and saw my baby kicking. In the end she just said “well I can’t make her move more and the monitor says that your baby is fine and has a strong heartbeat”.
Today the same thing happened, I don’t remember feeling one strong kick, just small ones here and there but I can barely feel her and it’s not the same. I want to go get it checked but I’m 100% sure they’ll tell me the same thing so at this point I’m just wondering what else is there to do? My midwife is on holiday, I can’t speak to her. My due date is next week Saturday and at this point I want to try anything to get this baby out because I’m so scared, I hear so many horror stories and as much as I try to understand that she’s growing and she’s running out of space and she’s going down ready to come but it REALLY stresses me out not feeling her because I’m used to her just kicking me reminding me she’s in there and now there’s hours passing and I try everything (Coke, cold water, trying to lay down or jump around) and I still barely feel her.

Did anyone experience this? What’s there for me to do or who can I speak to that won’t tell me “well I can’t make her move more”?😒

I came to this thread late, many congratulations. Your DD will be able to put out birthday cake for Santa every year.

Congratulations - I'm so pleased for you, OP. Thanks

I had reduced movements with DC1, so was told to come in, and was induced. Same hospital as you! It sounds like it was the midwife you encountered, as I was checked in, no questions.

What a needless worry and prolonging of the situation for you. But so glad she's safely here now.

I'm so glad this had a happy ending op. Congratulations on your new little one!

Your actually local to me and having had some dealings with nwp I'm not entirely surprised 😔 if you're feeling strong enough please do put your experience in writing to the head of midwifery. The hospital management take the view of well women don't complain so it must all be fine and conviniently ignore the fact that many women with a newborn don't think to complain!
