One - visit to Father Christmas!

LaPufalina · 11/12/2019 20:49

Four; two light displays (National Trust and zoo) and two Father Christmas visits 🎅

SingingSea · 11/12/2019 20:52

We’ve already been on a trip to see Santa.
Other than that, the only thing planned so far is the carol service at the local church.

HalyardHitch · 11/12/2019 20:56

One to a local Christmas celebration/fair type thing
I guess that's it. But we've made mince pies. We're making a gingerbread house. We've made paper chains and decorations for the tree. The eldest has had nativity plays. So we're pretty festive, I guess

popcorndiva · 11/12/2019 20:58

Just two
Santas grotto and Dunham Massey

Was considering steam train but thought he only needs to see Santa once

I also get free tickets to a Panto but not sure I can fit it in

Santasy · 11/12/2019 20:59

None. I'll take them to the pub on Christmas Eve.

elQuintoConyo · 11/12/2019 20:59

Visit to FC two weekends ago.
Panto on 23rd (a gift to us from GPs).
Carol service on 24th.
Oh, ice skating with school on 20th.

On one hand not much, on the other hand more than enough to get giddy with excitement about.

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 11/12/2019 21:00

One big paid-for event - the Santa train.

Smaller festive things - DD's Nan took her to see reindeer at the garden centre. We went to the Christmas tree farm and a craft fair, and we'll go to church on Christmas Eve with the other grandparents. I really want to take her to see the Salvation Army band but I keep missing them. We'll do a gingerbread house when I find one, and she'll help me make mince pies and a Yule log.

Moominfan · 11/12/2019 21:01

Santa train
Play group Xmas party
Few days at butlins just for tots

CherryPavlova · 11/12/2019 21:02

Our children are grown so a bit different but Christmas market, trip to Nutcracker at Coliseum, Candlelit carols and drinks, Ice skating at West Quay and meal out, Nine lessons and carols at the Cathedral.
A few drinks parties.

LL83 · 11/12/2019 21:06

None much as a family. But if I was posting on facebook (I don't) it could appear loads, youngest went to santa with my sister, then her gran. Decorated tree. Wore jumpers. Bought a hot chocolate in a festive cup. School has Christmas parties.

I will go to school Carol service and Nativity but husband will be at work. And we will go to church altogether on Christmas eve.

Do what suits you best. Good to get ideas but dont concern yourself with "how many" adds to much pressure.

PastaSauceHoarder · 11/12/2019 21:08

I have a two and a half year old little girl and for the first time shes really excited about Christmas this year. Xmas Smile

So far its been the panto last Sunday and a trip to a local giant Christmas tree that you can walk around inside to look at all the lights and decorations. 🎄

We also have a ticket booked for a Christmas party in our weekly playgroup and I'm going to see about taking her to see Father Christmas. Theres also a free reindeer farm that we might visit on Saturday, though that of course is weather dependent!

happypotamus · 11/12/2019 21:15

I don't think I am doing any. They are going to see Santa with another relative on Sunday, and I am work most of the time between them breaking up from school and Christmas.
They saw a panto at school, they are doing Nativity plays/ carol services at school. I would like to do something special with them, but I don't know what or when.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 11/12/2019 21:24

Thank you everyone.

We will be doing ice skating and have cut the tree.
