Pantomime, and a trip into London to buy a new bauble for the tree and see the Xmas lights.

sqirrelfriends · 14/12/2019 12:20

Two, visit to Santa's grotto and carolling on Christmas Eve. We may go to a church service on the day but will likely be really busy in the morning with presents and cooking. DS is only 18 months though.

sqirrelfriends · 14/12/2019 12:21

Oh, and DH and I went I've skating, it was shit and really grim though.

riotlady · 14/12/2019 12:27

Just 2 proper events- theatre trip to a special under 5s show and the nursery Xmas fair (where you can meet Santa)

Then we’ll have a few church things- just came in from the messy church christingle- and we’ve already put up our tree and her grandparents and made some Christmas biscuits

Greenbutterlfy566 · 14/12/2019 13:17

One.
We went to see Santa last Sunday and it was horrific. Really struggling with the middle one’s behaviour at the moment, so try not to leave the house unless absolutely necessary.

BlackSwanGreen · 15/12/2019 07:54

Christmas fair at their school last weekend
Grandparents will take them ice skating and to the cinema next week (while I'm at work)
Trip to the panto next weekend

UserPop · 15/12/2019 07:58

We've done two, our town's parade and a trip to see Santa.

DD1 has also seen santa at school and at a Christmas party with grandparents.

LettuceP · 15/12/2019 07:59

4
Stories with santa at the library, Xmas crafts and a Xmas trail at a big park,
Panto and then will probably go to see frozen 2 between Xmas and New year. Oh and eldest is seeing santa at the school next week so I guess that's 2 visits to santa.

Minesril · 15/12/2019 08:01

Going to hear carols at the albert hall next sunday. Two nights in hotel overlooking hyde park, so will prob wander around winter wonderland and do some window shopping. Don't think we'll attempt hamley's but may queue for lego store!

This is the last trip just the three of us before the baby's due in march. Cannot wait!

IrishMamaMia · 15/12/2019 08:04

One special paid for event close to Christmas with our toddler and enjoying lots of the free Christmas fayre, Santa and carol type activities locally and in our city :)

bluechameleon · 15/12/2019 08:07

Lots. We went to see the town lights being turned on, then back to the fair later on that weekend. A National Trust property, a light and sound installation, a panto, a Christmas walk-through at a garden centre. Toddler DS2 has been to the Christmas fair at the shopping centre a couple of times so I need to find time to take DS1. Still got Father Christmas visit to come, and a local garden centre I want to visit. I love Christmas.

Orangecake123 · 15/12/2019 08:12

One at the moment = Paddington on ice!

WutheringTights · 15/12/2019 08:55

Local lights switch on (very small and low key)
Santa train
Lanterns at the zoo
Santa story time (national trust)
Christmas theatre show
Couple of friends' Christmas parties
School Christmas fair
School nativities
Usual Sunday church services
Christingle on Christmas Eve

Gosh that looks a lot when I write it down.

Hi OP,
Can I ask why you created this thread? Your last few posts saying “bump” and “thanks all” feels v much like research for something particularly the “bump” which would totally not be needed in such a busy thread. @mnhq usually doesn’t allow surveys etc to be conducted this way so just wondered...

Thoughtlessinengland · 16/12/2019 19:43

Actually OP - having looked at your posting history - the vast most of your threads seem to be you soliciting views about how families celebrate holidays - similar threads about half term, Halloween, Santa visits, weekends - they are all so so similar. Do you use Mumsnet for ongoing research on such things or something? It all comes across - and this thread too - as very researchy and questioning type - as like all the very very similar threads you seem to start. It’s only a quick answer for people but there’s definitely a pattern here - any thoughts?
