Weird teenage crushes (that you may still hold a candle for)

I am watching Jaws while putting up my Christmas tree (because of course).

Remembering my almighty teenage crush on Richard Dreyfuss specifically as Matt Hooper. I first saw this movie when I was about 16 so 1999. I’m convinced it’s influenced my lifelong penchant for smartass, slightly nebbish men, boat shoes and oilskin jackets.
Would anybody else like to share their odd teenage crush (who still set their heart aflutter)?

Kevin Keegan (he is old enough to be my dad 😶).

marciagetscreamed · 09/12/2019 00:50

Lovejoy.
Russ Abbott.
And honestly, there was something I found strangely appealing about Frank Spencer.

DingDongMerrilyOnThigh · 09/12/2019 00:53

Spock and the 6 million dollar man.

EmMcK · 09/12/2019 00:55

John Salthouse in The Bill in the 1980s. Big time. I should not have googled to check on him now.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 09/12/2019 06:10

Jason Isaacs. Nearly 20 years after I saw him as Lucius Malfoy and hes still so gorgeous.

MurrayTheMonk · 09/12/2019 06:12

The weatherman John Hammond.

Pinkbonbon · 09/12/2019 06:18

Wtf. Two posters on here saying they let their 5 and 6 year olds watch Jaws!? Umm...you are joking right? xD

Hmm Mimi seekoo (Sam Huntington) in 'Jungle to jungle' cute then, hot now.

ThePolishWombat · 09/12/2019 06:24

Tommy Lee from Mötley Crüe Blush

It used to be a pg didnt it?

EtInTerraPax · 09/12/2019 08:59

Yes- Jaws was originally a PG.
My children wouldn't have coped with it now at 5 or 6!

No-one but me is admitting to Aramis from Dogtanian then? He's always mentioned on these threads...

EtInTerraPax · 09/12/2019 09:00

Actually, Aramis was pre-teenager for me, sorry Blush

Shockers · 10/12/2019 11:44

Foxy Robin Hood from the Disney cartoon film...

Somanysocks · 10/12/2019 12:41

Andrew McCarthy from the film Pretty in Pink. Still like him now even though i also think he's slightly creepy Confused

Furrybootsyecomfy · 10/12/2019 15:48

I had a huge crush on Bananaman as a 5 year old.

I think I quite liked Donatello from TMHT as well.

I'm going to say Kiefer Sutherland, which is not weird at all, apart from the fact that I particularly crushed on his full vampire self.

Luckingfovely · 10/12/2019 15:59

Oh man I thought my pure teenage love could bring James Dean back from the dead by its force alone!

But then I also thought that George Michael would turn for me if I ever met him Grin

Never let reality get in the way of a good daydream!

Lllot5 · 10/12/2019 16:07

@Pinkbonbon
I was thinking the same, I think I was about 14/15 the first time I saw it and was terrified.
Mind you I am a dreadful wimp.

Pinkbonbon · 10/12/2019 16:13

Yeah I would have thought 11+ at least. I remember I saw a Jurassic park film as a kid and had nightmares for weeks. And for some reason I think of Jaws as a more grown-upy film than those.

Xiaoxiong · 10/12/2019 16:20

Leo in Romeo + Juliet. And also John Leguizamo as Tybalt.

Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft.

James Dean in Rebel without a cause

But my all-time favourites are basically all the Viper and Raptor pilots in Battlestar Galactica - Starbuck, Apollo, Boomer, Helo, Galen... I wasn't really a teen anymore when that came out either Blush

SeaViewBliss · 10/12/2019 16:25

Rick Mayall will forever be my dream man.

nevergotthehangofthursdays · 10/12/2019 17:16

Nigel Havers in the 80's, all flicky hair and upper class refinement.

Boris Becker when he was 17 and first won Wimbledon.

Peter Davison as Tristan Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small.

Happy days...Grin

Buddyelf · 10/12/2019 17:23

Not sure it counts as a weird one but Jason Patrick from lost boys. Oh my word he was a good looking man.

Dhalandchips · 10/12/2019 17:29

Yy to showaddywaddy man, don't know his name, so pretty.
JJ Burnell from the Stranglers, phwoar! Nearly 70 too!
Michael York.
Joseph Fiennes in Shakespeare in Love

Fucck · 10/12/2019 17:31

Tom Selleck as Richard from Friends. Alan Rickman as Snape

While I love HP, I was an adult when they came out but Alan Rickman in Sense and Sensibility & Robin Hood and die hard Ahhhh, I loved him!
And Tom selleck. I was a teen in those early friends episodes so I'm also soooo with you there!
