Not children-related, but more hobby/experienced based.

My NY Resolution for 2020 is 'to have more fun'.

Mine to date:

Scuba dive on the Great barrier Reef

Christmas in Vienna

A fantastic vegetarian cooking course

Let the cute dorky student i’d earmarked for a fling basically move in.

Travelled by train to Barcelona, Venice, Sicily - sleeper trains are wonderful, my kids love them too.

Got therapy in time, so that I can be an emotionally connected mum to my kids.

StillMedusa · 07/12/2019 20:27

Started learning the guitar at 50

Taking the chance on my boyfriend. I wasn't sure of him when I met him but now he's the best thing in my life!

Making the decision to visit a new country every time I go away. I've been to loads of countries now that I totally wouldn't have.

I'm grateful for having bought my own place years ago and never selling it. I'll probably never going to get a chance to buy in my city again as it's so expensive, so until my circumstances change I'm keeping it. I'd absolutely hate to still be renting at my age, I hear horror stories from my friends all the time.

Passing my driving test - over 40 years ago but it is the achievement that has given me the most pleasure and that I have used most in all my life.

Going on holiday alone, (including scuba diving)

Having a house designed and built just for me - that I now live in.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 07/12/2019 22:22

Going to Malta on a whim and meeting DW. Holiday romance, 30th anniversary this year.

Snorkeling the Crack in the World in Iceland. Like swimming in ice cold vodka, one hand on either continent.

Not giving in to my darker desires. Took some doing, that bit.

Poetryinaction · 07/12/2019 22:27

Walked around the Gower Peninsula
Spent 3 months working in Peru
6 months in the South of France

ICantChoose · 07/12/2019 23:17

NerrSnerr · 07/12/2019 23:29

Learn flower arranging from scratch to do wedding flowers for two close friends (and my own wedding)

Spend my 20s living in various places around the UK from city centre apartments to a rural converted barn. Spending our time going to gigs, city breaks etc whilst slowly saving for a house deposit. I feel we 'lived' our 20s

Doing diving lessons (from a board, not scuba) even though I'm terrified of heights. I loved it.

PandancerandRabbitoplh · 07/12/2019 23:32

Studying at Cambridge - was the first person from my comprehensive to go there and it really opened up a lot of opportunities for me.
Working in research department of political party - got Christmas party at No. 10, invite to event with the Queen, worked with No 10 policy unit and with PM during election, really exciting and endless parties.
Favourite holiday is Australia - Great Barrier Reef and staying with lady who rescues tree kangaroos, bettong, pademelon and possums.

balletpanda · 07/12/2019 23:36

A holiday in California as a teenager is one I'll never forget. We'd never really been abroad before and every single day was just thrilling.

Getting our cats

Walking away from my most recent relationship

CherryPavlova · 07/12/2019 23:36

Working in a refugee camp in Ethiopia.
Wild swimming in Iceland
Spending three months in South America, as a fifteen-year-old, building a health centre.

elQuintoConyo · 07/12/2019 23:42

Emigrated three times without knowing the language, I am now advanced level in three. Sorely tempted to move to France... I love French....Hmm

Marriage and child, obviously.

We adopted a dog 3 years ago, she's a furry weirdo but we all adore her.

Learnt to sew - oh my god, the stuff I've made! The money I've saved! The people I have helped! Totally worth it and I'm nowhere near pro or anything

Cattenberg · 07/12/2019 23:43

Going to Easter Island - I’d wanted to go there for years and it’s a unique place. I’m very lucky.

Going to Bhutan, ditto. It has its problems, but it’s a unique and beautiful country.

Getting a degree in modern languages. I haven’t done much with it, but I love the subject and it’s opened my eyes (I feel as though it’s given me a window on the world), despite not increasing my earning potential.

blueshoes · 08/12/2019 00:03

Thehagonthehillwithtinsel · 08/12/2019 00:11

Discovering as a young adult that I lived to make things grow.I love flowers and veg and started with having little money so growing from seed.Still love it though I have a tiny garden now.
The ability to have moments of pure joy.As a teen looking at a clear blue sky,7 months pregnant snoozing on a bench by a pond, fairy light on the tree at home do it every year. There are more and will be more.
To know at work there are times when I have individually really made a difference.
Having the courage to leave my ex.supporting my DD through it and against all the odds re-establishing a good relationship between her and her father(and gritting my teeth as he takes credit).
I am still rising from the ashes post divorce and finally having to find time for me.
I've done sunrises over volcanoes, sleeping in the desert etc so the only thing I really want to do is a balloon flight over the area I live in.

looondonn · 08/12/2019 00:12

1)travelled the world
2) graduated first in my year at Cambridge
3) became a doctor

But all of this is small when I look at my girl as the greatest achievement I could ever have dreamed of and then having the strength to leave an abusive bas**rd

HerRoyalNotness · 08/12/2019 00:18

Hiking the Inca Trail
Hiking the Mont Blanc circuit
Snorkelling around an island off Queensland with turtles and black tipped reef sharks

No wonder I’m so unhappy where I live now

Bloodybridget · 08/12/2019 06:03

Spending a year on a kibbutz when I was 20.
Working as a bookseller for many years.
Living in Granada for six months with DP, a few years ago.
