Has anyone's DC got attached to a random object at this age?

MIL gave me a packet of coffee to pass on to a relative yesterday. Now DS says he loves it and wants to keep it Confused

That should have been PPs, not POs. Autocorrected and not proofread. Not sure why the Post Office would have been looking at this thread, other than to look for things we might be getting delivered for our children for Christmas.

When DD was little she went to bed with an umbrella one night. Best to be prepared!

These are brilliant Grin

My ds (now 15) had a soft toy plane called "plane"

That in itself isn't odd neither was the fact he wanted it to go everywhere with us (until he left it in a hotel room aged 13).

What I found odd was the fact when asked (kindly suggested) he left it at home when he was older he would get irrationally upset at the thought.

Eventually he told me it couldn't stay at home in case the house burnt down when we weren't there Hmm and he couldn't let his best friend burn.

I didn't like to point out the car could equally spontaneously combust Grin

when my DS was somewhere around 2 or 3 he became obsessed with a specific page in the Halloween issue of the free Asda magazine you can pick up at the checkout, and wanted to look at it more or less every second he was awake. We had to keep replacing the magazine as if the page got dog-eared or torn in any way he'd get become hysterical. We even made photocopies to placate him with. This went on for about 6 weeks before he lost interest!
