I know this has probably been done to death. 2 children under 5.

We had a 'late' breakfast (7.30 ) bit of tv, outside for a couple if hours. Lunch. Colouring. Playing. Saying "mummeeeeee?" A gazillion times.

I really don't want to bake.......

I'm currently drinking coffee in the kitchen while they play with trains in the front room. I'll join them in a minute.

Ones playing with play doh and the other's watching Blippi on the smart TV.

We did the playground in the morning. Might throw them out into the garden in a while.

We purposefully do very little on Saturday as the eldest is in his first year of school and has some challenges with it and needs to decompress.

Sleepysquirrelin · 23/11/2019 14:32

They had a softplay party this morning. Now playing a game of pairs and playing with their cars and will probably do play dough or drawing afterwards. We are in for the day as it's raining and they are tired. Might rope them into tidying the house in the form of a game.

Sparrowlegs248 · 23/11/2019 14:35

@ElspethFlashman we are the same. They never want to go out, eldest also just started school and we have a busy week. I really struggle with it some days. It's just me so no respite

Cutting up an old Argos catalogue can take many hours Wink

We usually do quite a lot on Saturdays, soft play or park in the morning, visiting family or shopping in the afternoon, sometimes go out for food.

But today 😬 I’ve slept really badly all week and DH is out all day, so I’ve guiltily parked DD 2.5 on the sofa with some snacks and CBeebies 😬 while I doze under a blanket next to her. We have done drawing and printing, and we’ve read books and played ‘school’, but if I’m honest, at her age these activities only last about 20 minutes each, so it has been a lot of TV today!

I work FT and have an evil commute... someone tell me this is ok for a one-off pyjama day!

georgialondon · 23/11/2019 15:37

Went out for a walk and lunch. Now all cuddling on the sofa watching Blippi.

Lozxx · 23/11/2019 15:41

I feel poorly today so got no energy but my 2 yr old has played with his diggers, we've played hide and seek and had a lovely long nap. Now it's tv and snuggles🥰 I use to worry so much about just putting the tv on but I need it today

StandardLampski · 23/11/2019 16:34

Bickering...Hmm

SimonJT · 23/11/2019 16:58

How is it only 5pm?

We had rugby tots this morning, then I went to the UniLad blood bank, lunch out and back home.

My sons smashing something about in the living room, I’m hiding in my bedroom for at least twenty minutes.

Felipa · 23/11/2019 17:02

What is it with Blippi?! My 4 year old is watching him today too.

We are having a very lazy day and am not feeling guilty at all. Last week we all decided to brave the elements and go to the park....complete disaster with lots of crying and wet trousers. So this weekend its playdate in the house with cousins and repeated watching of Frozen in preparation for our cinema trip tomorrow!!

bedtimestories · 23/11/2019 17:23

@fi1982 completely ok

KTCluck · 23/11/2019 17:33

We haven’t left the house today other than in the car to do some errands, as the rain is relentless. We’ve watched lots of Disney, done a puzzle, played with happyland, played doctors and built a den. DD(2) has pretty much dropped her nap but had a nice long one today which I’ll probably regret at bedtime. DH has just got in from his hobby and is now in the den and I’m taking the opportunity for a cuppa Grin. I feel no guilt for a lazy day. She’s at nursery 4 days a week where they do all sorts of activities and outings. We’ll be out visiting family and hopefully a walk or the park tomorrow if the weather’s better. It’s pretty rare we do so little on a Saturday and I think it does them good to have the odd chilled out day where they can choose what they want to do.

managedmis · 23/11/2019 17:34

What's this blippi? Is it on Netflix?

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 23/11/2019 17:37

Mine are a bit bigger now. It used to go like this:
Get up 7 or 8 ish
Make breakfast and get ready to go out
Toddler group from 10- 12.00
Home for lunch
Bit of playtime
Shopping or housework
Teatime
DH gets home and takes over- wine for me!

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 23/11/2019 17:38

My eldest was very self contained and used to play by himself for reasonable stretches. The younger one was more demanding but had a big brother to play with.

dontlickthelamp · 23/11/2019 17:38

4 DC, stayed in all day. So far they’ve done puzzles, colouring, made a fort, went on the Xbox, read, did some painting and helped with tea.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 23/11/2019 17:38

Killed some time at Sainsbury’s - fortunately a friend of mine came round with a new toy for my DD to play with, a fair bit of CBeebies, colouring and play farm

Beechview · 23/11/2019 17:51

Mine are older now but as well as some tv, jigsaws, drawing and sticking, we used to
Make ooblek
Watch funny animal clips on YouTube
Play don’t fall into the river by jumping on cushions to get across the room
Play chase
Dance to some of my favourite old songs
Play skittles in the hallway

Sparrowlegs248 · 23/11/2019 17:51

We love a trip to Sainsbury @OnlyFoolsnMothers but I couldn't persuade the youngest, who had been poorly all week and remains very demanding.

Have never heard of or seen Blippi. Not sure I want to. I'll investigate it when they are in bed. They had half an hour on the kindle each, I found batteries for a remote control vehicle, we fluttered the endured house making Christmas decorations. Current watching a DVD before bed. Wind down time!

OP posts:
Sparrowlegs248 · 23/11/2019 17:52

We did dancing too. What is ooblek? A typo??

OP posts:
Sparrowlegs248 · 23/11/2019 17:56

Ooh! I genuinely thought it was a typo! Thank you, I'll keep that in mind for next week!

We enjoy a lazy day at home, my 3yo has been playing with his toys all day and watched a little tv in between, I've been playing with him, tidying up and relaxing(watching him play while sitting on the sofa half on my phoneBlush)

snackarella · 23/11/2019 18:47

Mine help with stuff that's not very helpful but I'll give them a job, sweeping it hovering while I fold washing etc (they're 2 and 4) otherwise they play, argue, annoy me. I usually end up going somewhere for an hour to give everyone a break

riotlady · 23/11/2019 18:57

We’ve had a lovely day in! Lots of colouring, DD covered us both in stickers. We’ve played on the floor a lot, lots of wrestling and tickling and throwing about. Read some stories and watched tv.
