What do you do?

Lots of you working independently as writers, historians, etc. Not an awful lot of team working being mentioned.

Is that what you all prefer?

INFJ here, and I work in a small team looking at quality and patient safety. I love it!

BryanAdamsLeftAnkle · 14/11/2019 19:57

I'm INFJ and I'm a nurse in medical receiving. Very sick patients and very fast paced.

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 14/11/2019 19:58

I far prefer working on my own. Office politics really grinds my gears and I always got it wrong.

Minai · 14/11/2019 20:01

Stay at home mum. 2 little ones at home. It’s full on but I love it. I was a PA before and while I never disliked my job I certainly didn’t enjoy it. I plan to go back to work as a teaching assistant when my boys are in school

Twickerhun · 14/11/2019 20:02

Infj and I work in change management / hr in the public sector

LividLaughLove · 14/11/2019 20:02

INFJ teacher 🙋‍♀️

Biggobyboo · 14/11/2019 20:05

Primary school teacher and half enjoy it!

SpoonBlender · 14/11/2019 20:16

INFP/INFJ evens, I'm a generalist tech geek turned manager. It's great.

Kernowgal · 14/11/2019 20:17

INFJ editor and researcher, and occasional teacher :)

Can't stand being in an office although I'm not self-disciplined enough to work from home all the time.

I hate having to work in groups.

BusterTheBulldog · 14/11/2019 20:19

I’ve fluctuated between I and e over the times I’ve done it, I’m at e on the cusp of an i now, but IT project manager, I love that I get periods of working from home but also time out on site too.

Ghoulette1740 · 14/11/2019 20:27

I work in a team in publishing and there's a lot of team work in my history work.

supadupapupascupa · 14/11/2019 20:29

Infj. I'm a management accountant, I work for my husband part time as and when I want. Total autonomy and control. I love it

DoubleNegativePanda · 14/11/2019 20:33

I'm INFJ, I do insurance billing for a dental office. When I was the receptionist I enjoyed myself moderately but was completely drained at the end of the day. In billing, there's less constant interaction and I get an inordinate amount of pleasure from wringing money out of an insurance company for a patient. It also allows me to indulge my need for extreme organization!

Sinuhe · 14/11/2019 20:42

INFJ I write / translate product descriptions. I am leading a team, but it's mainly a heads down & get on with it job.

vinoandbrie · 14/11/2019 20:42

INFJ, I work in the big 4 and always have. I find it draining, it is against my personality type, but I have still done ok!

BarbaraFromOopNorth · 14/11/2019 20:57

Thanks everyone, this is really interesting. Keep them coming!

Isfj here, I work in human resources

MulticolourMophead · 14/11/2019 21:17

@DPotter CAn you link to information on why it's bad science? Am interested.

Did this at work recently and am INFJ, I think. I'd have to double check the paperwork in the office. I'm public sector on a very small team (less than a handful), and I do a lot of stuff on IT/finance/admin, etc. I do interact with other teams, but most comms are via email. Suits me.

Crinkle77 · 14/11/2019 21:19

@postermadcatladyforever it's a personality type.

VondaVomin · 14/11/2019 21:24

In-house lawyer. I quite like spending the odd day in the office with my very nice team, but prefer WFH which I am fortunately free to do as much as I like. There have to be some perks to being as old as the hills :)

My ideal day is when I have a meaty project to get on top of, am working from home and have complete solitude to crack on with it. I'm good at creative problem solving and analysis but I do it best on my own.

DPotter · 15/11/2019 03:19

Don't have references to hand - studied it during undergrad Psychology degree. If I recall correctly the scale is an amalgam of different personality tests with no checking of the test before it was released and some dodgy stats; there is no internal consistency (you can get wildly different results with repeat testing).

Milomonster · 15/11/2019 07:44

INJF - academic. Mostly research and 1:1 work. Group meetings making me terribly anxious. My job suits me perfectly.

ValkyrieCain · 15/11/2019 08:22

I am INFJ and am an office manager for a law firm. Twenty years in HR too. Will be retraining as a psychotherapist.

BarbaraFromOopNorth · 15/11/2019 09:05

Quite a few of us have been there in some shape or another hence the reason so many of us are saying to dump his sorry arse. It's not going to improve and you sound lovely.
