And where you got it? Maybe even how much you spent?

I'm after inspiration 😄😄😄

Not installed yet, but we’ve just put a deposit on a kitchen from Wren. They have some great discounts and got the appliances on black friday deals.

tomboytown · 13/11/2019 17:26

Local independent
About £50k all in

All that white and pointy corners- very switch though. Where the oven.

Ours is a shit tip (so no photos!) but cost around £17k 16 years ago. It’s small so we had it made to fit the weird space and make to most of it all. It still looks good though I have to say. This was pre kid - when we had money...

50k!
17k!
😭

We were hoping to spend 20k on the whole house.

Not just on the kitchen.

Perhaps I'm in cloud cuckoo land.

Whenever I look at websites, they never seem to have prices.

tomboytown · 13/11/2019 17:58

Family have had v good kitchens from Wickes- but Were very lucky with excellent fitter - all in for £8k , can’t find pic, sorry

Mine (kitchen & utility) is currently a work in progress, so pictures look a bit crap! But it is shaping up to be just as I planned it.

Units, doors, cornice, pelmet, plinth (base: 4 x 600, 1 x 500 drawer, 1 x 950 sink, 1 x 800 sink, 2 integrated appliance doors / 600 larder / wall : 6 x 600, 1 x 900 top box, 1 x corner, 1 x 1,000, 2 x 800, 1 x 150) = £4,700.

Sinks (2) & taps (2) = £200.
Handles = £120.

Paint & sundries = £200 max.

Appliances: new cooker (wanted a 900cm one to fit the space symetrially) and new integal dishwasher (was going to reuse old one but it was on its way out).
Reusing integral fridge (21 years old), freestanding washing machine, tumble drier and fridge freezer.

Fitting & electrics = £2,800.
Plumbing = £600.

Flooring (Polyfor Camaro, approx 40sqm) = £1,300 fitted.

Tiles & tiler not yet sorted.

So around £10k exc appliances.

Wickes quoted around £10k for similar but inc fitted 600 double oven & hob. £3k for fitting but that didn't include everything and would have been around another £1.5k for extras. Plus flooring, plus tiling, plus appliances. So significantly more.

Please ignore my clutter and mutts. 😀 Kitchen is from Magnet. Came in at around £25k. That includes 40m2 of amtico flooring, a new ceiling in the old part of the kitchen and lots of electrical work. I think without that it was probably around the £18k mark.

Squirrels where did you buy your units from - I like the price .
This thread is just what I’m looking for, all the showrooms look identical- I need real life pics to steal ideas from😀

Chasingsquirrels · 13/11/2019 18:20

Oh sorry I forgot to put that. DIY Kitchens, Norton painted sage.

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 13/11/2019 18:41

@MaisyMary77 I love your kitchen.
How much for the cupboards and work surfaces?

Lovely.

Thanks all you're giving me loads to look at.

OP posts:
MaisyMary77 · 13/11/2019 18:51

Thanks!

Without installation, I think the units were around £12k and the worktops were £2k.

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 13/11/2019 19:02

WOW!!
That's very much beyond our price range.

I had a sneaky feeling I was looking at The Good Stuff.

tomboytown · 13/11/2019 19:16

Benchmark units cost £2300, worktop, quartz another £1300
And there were cheaper similar styles

We've just had a new kitchen from units direct. I'm so pleased with it. Really good quality and they did some bespoke units for us too.

TheGirlWithGlassFeet · 13/11/2019 19:38

I also thought about 20k would do our house. 40k later we're not even half way there 😬

Witchinghour1 · 13/11/2019 19:44

This is my current kitchen!!! 18k to fit kitchen from shaker kitchen co. Good luck, OP! It will all be worth it:)

An independent in the midlands did ours for £6k ish (£8.5k total including range). Not sure of exact figures because it was part of a whole house renovation. We had a country style kitchen but they had loads of styles. More in your price range maybe but a bit of a travel?

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 13/11/2019 19:58

@tomboytown I like that cheeky corner of tiles.
They look lovely.

I did a complete house renovation (post divorce house). The kitchen was the last room to do. Not huge but did it for 5k all I'm including fitting and integrated appliances.

Wow! Well done bored! That’s impressive! We are sadly lacking the skills:)

popsadaisy · 13/11/2019 20:01

Here are before and after pics of my kitchen. I didn't get a brand new kitchen still the same cupboards but everything else is new. I call it an 'upcycle'
To rip old tiles off floor and walls and but new tiles it cost £390
New work surface was around £180/200 sorry can't remember exact cost.
To fit new work surfaces and sink it was £160
Sink was £180
Painter for cupboard doors and replacement of door handles was £310
So cost us just over £1000
Sorry the pictures aren't amazing and I hadn't put my washing up away 🙈
