And where you got it? Maybe even how much you spent?

I'm after inspiration 😄😄😄

Not a great pic, the sink and fridge are on the other side of the white wall. It is IKEA (done last year) was around 10k which included labour and pretty decent appliances. Also included rip out and some electrics .The floor was done separately. Still haven't finished the tiling behind the counter and hob...

I worked with a local carpenter to get the high end kitchen I loved for around £8k Cheap carcasses from Bench Marx (£5k) and £1500 for bespoke carpentry. We spent about £12 in the end but that included the floor and electrics and other bits and bobs

I really recommend Wickes takeaway kitchens! We had one in our last hours, moved after 4 years but cupboards were in perfect condition. DH put one in our current house too - Madison white. Good size kitchen all done for £2k. Being takeaway means if you change your mind or have measured wrong you can take back and pick up another bit easily! It’s good quality too - he’s fussy!

Think ours was about 3.5k but we fitted ourselves

2k in Ikea on units, dishwasher and fridge
1k on oven, hob, cooker hood, sink and taps
£300 on worktops

boredboredbored yours is gorgeous - just my taste

TrickyKid · 14/11/2019 09:54

@tomboytown that looks lovely, really nice light space. It shows you don't need to spend mega bucks to get a great kitchen.

We did a kitchen last year for our holiday apartment. Its small ish but units, worktop, hob and inserts were £1000 from Ikea. Then another £1000 on aeg oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer. Sink and taps £200 from amazon. So £2200 for a kitchen including appliances. Dh and I built and fitted it all ourselves, it was relatively easy seeing as we had never done it before.
Im pleased with the result. I think next year we will do our main house kitchen, using ikea units and worktops, but i might get some custom made door/drawers as would like solid wood for ours.

It depends on your kitchen size, but not including if you need electrics or plumbing, if you go down the ikea route for units and worktops, I would say you can definitely get something for £5k or less.

That sounds more our price range caspien.

I just went to look round a local showroom, got a catalogue but it has NO prices in it. The websites are the same. That's so stupid?!

I’m in the middle of designing our new kitchen at the moment and am using the 3D planner on the Ikea website. I’m not totally set on getting it from there but it’s easy to use the planner and change stuff around and that gives a price for each individual item as you add it, as well as a total price list of every item you have. Might be worth a look to see if you can what you want at the budget you want.

Bewarethequietboy · 14/11/2019 13:46

I should say that for the design I’ve got which includes loads of extras like a dining table and chairs and shelves and a sofa in the other end of the room (which I put in to see how the whole room would look) as well as storage units in the pantry which we probably won’t get and will just build wide shelves, it comes to £10k.

Plump82 · 14/11/2019 14:47

Popsadaisy what paint did you use for your doors?

Katinski · 14/11/2019 14:55

@tomboytown your floor tiles are knockout gorgeous!

Ghostonthedancefloor · 14/11/2019 15:59

I don’t want to post pics as could be outing (sorry), but we have just finished ours for around £3k. £2800 for the kitchen from Wickes, FIL fitted it. (Fitting was more than the cost of the kitchen if we went through Wickes!) and £200 or so on tiles. It’s fabulous.

Would highly recommend them. They come out and measure etc for free then call you in when the design is ready to view. Lifetime guarantee on the carcasses.

tizwozliz · 14/11/2019 20:32

Work surfaces came from worktop express

StopMakingATitOfUrselfNPissOff · 14/11/2019 20:51

Ours was homebase. Think units and worktops were £3k but my DH fitted them so we saved a packet on that.
Appliances were about £1.5k oven, built in microwave, dishwasher, hob, washer dryer, chimney hood.
Flooring about £400 but again laid by my DH.

TheSandman · 14/11/2019 23:00

My kitchen is tiny but I do have the biggest sinks. Reclaimed double industrial hotel kitchen sinks - I don't know how old they are but they're probably from the 60s I use stacking boxes as basins. The woodwork surfaces I made myself floorboards and planed 50x75mm red pine. There's just enough room in there for one person comfortably. Two people working in there ends up in a funky fancy two step dance every time someone wants to open the oven or get a utensil.

Noroof · 14/11/2019 23:05

We started off planning a kitchen....85k later we have a new kitchen and a completely refurbed house with a new floor added. Be warned.

ssd · 14/11/2019 23:07

Some really nice kitchens here

and a shed load of money spent

Biggie123 · 14/11/2019 23:14

Plain English do beautiful kitchens at £40k upwards. Their cheaper arm, British standard is obviously much more accessible

They are kitchens for people who care about what their drawers looks like on the inside, how their draws fit and well... quality.

But it’s a definite style..:

The prive whilst not ikea price is a lot more reasonable

Biggie123 · 14/11/2019 23:17

housewifeoflittleitaly · 15/11/2019 00:14

Biggie123 that’s is such a beautiful kitchen.. I think I’d even sleep in it!!
