The Hawksmoor on Deansgate. Amazing steak

Evilspiritgin · 12/11/2019 23:03

Has anybody been to lime at the Salford quays?

jess3817 · 12/11/2019 23:03

V - rev

LuckyLola · 12/11/2019 23:10

Evuna on Deansgate for Tapas 😋

UrsulaPandress · 12/11/2019 23:16

Is it just me or does the ‘Northern Quarter’ make anyone else piss themselves laughing?

NotSoFlatStanley · 12/11/2019 23:34

@NauseousNancy Six by Nico - a six course tasting menu that changes every six weeks. We went New York style a few weeks ago with a wine flight, less than £40 per head and a fabulous experience! It’s at the top of Spring Gardens, not far from Rosso

Has anybody been to lime at the Salford quays?

We looked at it and decided to stick with cafe rouge (which is I guess the same as a cafe rouge anywhere else). But would like to know if lime or any of the other quays restaurants are good.

Our favourite nearish to the centre (Whiteworth St) is a Japanese called Samsi which does good sushi and sashimi.

There's neither a Rudy's or Sugo in the Northern Quarter.

There is definitely a Sugo. It's BRILLIANT. Definitely recommend it:

Also love graphene and the refuge is lovely too

bondbaby · 13/11/2019 00:04

Sounds like TNQ would suit you. Classy, simple but great cooking and really lovely staff, not pretentious at all. Definitely have their roast if you're around on a Sunday.

@Evilspiritgin Lime bar at the Quays is grim!

gobbynorthernbird · 13/11/2019 00:09

Sugo is in Altrincham and Ancoats.

Soontobe60 · 13/11/2019 02:06

@gobbynorthernbird
Both are within spitting distance of NQ.

the original Rudys is nearby.

gobbynorthernbird · 13/11/2019 07:07

I know exactly where they are, thanks. There are lots of places close to the NQ, Manchester City centre is fairly small. But if we're going by that then the printworks are in the NQ, as is the Corn Exchange, and the gay village.

I second Try Thai. It's the best Thai I've ever tasted!

danmthatonestakentryanotheer · 13/11/2019 07:16

The Rice Bowl on Cross St does a lovely Chinese and Oriental dishes.

@errolthedragon lime on Salford quays is mediocre. Glorified pub food that they've dressed up a bit. I was really underwhelmed when I went. I'd rather have gone pizza express 🤣

thismeansnothing · 13/11/2019 07:56

@lastqueenofscotland
Ah we love crazy Pedro's. We've only been post concert though as one of the few places doing food and open at that time. I didn't mind the noise as we've just been a concert. Sounds rank but we love the chicken waffle and maple pizza 🤣🤣 we've not had a bad one when we've been.

MummaGiles · 13/11/2019 07:59

Kala on King St. Wood over near First Street.

ErrolTheDragon · 13/11/2019 08:56

Thanks re lime, that's what we thought from the look of it.

Howaboutnoooo · 13/11/2019 12:16

Thanks @LivingDeadGirlUK we will be a small group, that’s a shame about the rudeness though!

NauseousNancy · 27/11/2019 13:05

Thank you so much for all the recs - we went to try Thai last night and was honestly the best Thai food I’ve ever had, was so delicious!

Thinking of the markets today, but they seem really bitty...Am I missing something? I’m from Edinburgh so used to it all being in one place!

Its everywhere lol, which I kinda like because it means you can look at bits while going to other places.
