So. Who will be the media’s Remembrance Day whipping boy this year?

Corbyn? For wearing the wrong coat/suit/tie/shoes/face?

Meghan-for being caught smiling at the wrong moment, or attention seeking for being seen at an event while there is speculation about her being pregnant?

Johnson? For not having his shirt tucked in?

William and/or Harry for not publicly embracing?

Kate? For something- can’t think what. Too many poppies? Wearing a headband?

The thing is, surely if the BBC had meant to deliberately swap out the clips then they’d have used a better one? The clip shown was obviously the wrong year, with a completely different coloured wreath. It was easily shown to be wrong and they were picked up immediately. And what did they “cover up”? A minor cock up not indicative of any disrespect.

It’s a bit too tin foil hat-ish for me to think it was some sort of grand conspiracy.

Trying to politicise Remembrance Day - in either direction - is pretty shitty IMO.

Both of the politicians in question here are terrible in many, many ways. Adding in “bowing weirdly” or “accidentally placing a wreath incorrectly” is ridiculously petty and distracts from the wider issues.

PegHughes ditto! And I used to work for them! (long time ago admittedly)

What's done it for me is BBCQT. Having Nigel Farage on there 34 times whilst ignoring others.

I'm really not sure about this so please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Johnson only lay wreaths as Foreign Secretary? The Foreign Office wreaths are distinctive.

Trying to politicise Remembrance Day - in either direction - is pretty shitty IMO. That's pretty much what I was saying. But if the footage was deliberately changed, then the BBC made a decision that could be seen as political.

Agreed. You could certainly argue that the BBC raised Farage's profile and helped to make him a political force.

There was a long segment on the Today show this morning about the unreleased report into Russian interference in politics, they even interviewed Hillary Clinton about it. I was quite surprised.
