I love this house. LOVE it. Its in a nice town, its big but not too big, its not stuck in the middle of nowhere, the decor is cosy and just on the non-bland side of neutral

This is close by me and sadly within the next2 years is about to loose it's beautiful views towards the campsie hills as a housing developer has just signed up to build 600+ houses in the surrounding fields Sad

Verily1 · 09/11/2019 00:56

I’d want more for my money- kerb appeal isn’t great- garden overlooked- kitchen ceiling low

PutYourBackIntoit · 09/11/2019 01:00

Pleeeease can we set up s Mumsnet Castle commune???

I make a good shin of beef stew.....😁

Fere · 09/11/2019 01:22

Tower house anyone?

JimPickens · 09/11/2019 01:55

I mean. It's very middle-class white people. If that's you then, more power to you. No tea no shade.

1forAll74 · 09/11/2019 02:25

I never look at properties as a rule, but love the first one at Great Dunsmow, lovely house, but love the huge garden mostly. But I rather like that cottagey home in Burnley, as love up north Lancashire, and that place would be ideal for me and my three cats !!

Time40 · 09/11/2019 03:13

My god, that castle! I want it. But surely that price must be a mistake? It can't be so little. What on earth is wrong with it?

Allington · 09/11/2019 06:15

I rather like the idea of the walled garden and dovecot....

Yoollyball · 09/11/2019 06:42

You would probably not want the castle - it is between two quite large areas of deprivation and being rural would have likely security issues and you would be shipping out for schooling- well everything really. I would not live there with my tweens.

EmmaC78 · 09/11/2019 08:22

You really would not want the castle. As Yolly says the surrounding areas are really deprived so it isn't really the rural Scottish castle you are all picturing. I wouldn't live there even at that price.

Sazquatch · 09/11/2019 08:25

Swishyswash, that’s a depressing house for £650. Where I live in Scotland we have a lot of the same style of house. That one would be exactly half the price here.

Beveren · 10/11/2019 08:49

I hate what they've done to the inside of the Primrose Hill place, the atrium with all the glass makes it looks like offices. So they won't be getting my £28 mill Grin

Beveren · 10/11/2019 08:55

Is the Cheshire place being sold by a footballer?

midsomermurderess · 10/11/2019 13:16

this, the always lovely Ann Street, Edinburgh

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/11/2019 13:39

Oh that one in Ann Street is gorgeous mid but on Streetview I wouldn't fancy trying to park there !
Just about every house has a long garden but only one or two have OSP or garage .(Maybe there's a protection order on the street or something?)
It would be a 'mare with the tennis club there .

midsomermurderess · 10/11/2019 13:54

The parking is terrible, the street's pretty narrow. My favourite is the modern, mid-century house but I'd want to the furniture and light fittings.

feelinghelplesstoday · 12/11/2019 20:48

Oh god I've found a new favourite!!

Ursaminor · 12/11/2019 21:37

I have pleasure in bringing to this thread:
A 6 bedroom country house with 14 acres of land, about 30 mins drive from Inverness Airport (so almost commutable...) Grin

feelinghelplesstoday · 12/11/2019 22:32

@Ursaminor lovely! Forres is a very pretty town. Was born and brought up not far from there. They always had beautiful floral displays in the town

Gertie75 · 12/11/2019 22:47

This one is perfect, you can commute from anywhere in your helicopter www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-63990723.html

Witchofthenorth · 13/11/2019 00:02

This is the one I want. If it will just stay on the market for another 6/7 months then just maybe....

FenellaVelour · 13/11/2019 00:10

That first house is nice and seems a good price.
The second one, I actually thought it was my cousins house for a moment as the garden (fields?!)/tennis court etc are almost identical, only she lives “down south”.

FenellaVelour · 13/11/2019 00:17

This is an old favourite of mine from my saved properties (yes, I know)

Findhorn, Forres, Morayshire

FenellaVelour · 13/11/2019 00:19

Surely the castle is cheap as chips because of the god awful gothic decor!

It’s probably horribly haunted. That’s the usual explanation.
