Why don't they get rid of Corbyn?

I realise this might be a totally naive question.....but wouldn't labour be in with more of a chance without Corbyn.....so why don't they get rid of him?

I think the Labour Party have to take responsibility for not sorting out their leadership issue out in the last couple of years. If they'd have put in a real contender then Boris would not have dared call a GE. But JC will be out on Dec 13th.

Ozgirl75 · 01/11/2019 00:28

But I honestly don’t think that “most” labour voters are against private schools to the extent that they want them banned - but maybe they think that the private schools could do more with the local comp schools for example.

And I don’t think that most labour voters hate the rich and just want their money to be taxed away from them (because they actually understand how damaging that would be to the economy and ultimately their own jobs), but they would like the opportunity to get a great education for their children, have a good, stable job with a decent income that allows for a decent standard of living, being able to save some money, not rely on food banks and hand outs. Surely everyone wants to live in a prospering country and yes there will be differences between the rich and the poorer but a great labour government could help to raise up the poorer, with the help of the rich, so everyone can enjoy a good standard of living.

Even if his party is trounced on Dec 12, Corbyn will not go.

He'll have to be dragged out kicking and screaming but it won't happen because, thanks to JC's policy of divide and rule, the Labour Party is too fractured to come together and select his replacement. Corbyn will die in harness, or die fighting to retain control of the reins.

Don't underestimate the working class, Ozgirl. They didn't vote Leave as a protest; they want their country back from the diktat of unelected officials who are determined to make the inhabitants of member states 'Europeans' with a European Army that can be used to police us all.

I’m not underestimating the working class - and I’m sure Europe is important to lots of people, but I think if people felt that their views were listened to by politicians and they were living in a prosperous country that was benefitting everyone, they might have been less inclined to vote leave.

GhoulieBat · 01/11/2019 10:23

I've seen numerous vox pops and interviews and letters etc from leave voters as well as hearing leave voters talk in person. The thing they have talked about most are immigration and a general sense of wanting to run our own show and not be bossed about by Brussels. I haven't heard a single mention of worries about a European army - I really don't think that's people's main concern. As far as I can see they (wrongly) think Brexit will mean less/no immigration and more money.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 01/11/2019 10:37

Pp mentions that JC has brought in a lot of younger voters.

They seem to be the idealistic kind who genuinely believe that tired trip of "mean evil tories eating babies for breakfast just to up their death counts"; and that if Labour get in, the whole country will magically transform into a utopian pleasure ground for everyone, with guaranteed jobs and money and premium healthcare flowing like rivers, and Brexit transformed into a MN finest spa day.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 01/11/2019 10:41

Labour is my party I’ve always voted for them as have my parents grandparents

Have never understood people who blindly vote like this.

simplekindoflife · 01/11/2019 11:07

It's mind boggling, OP!

I would never ever vote for a government with Corbyn and Abbott. Complete shambles and a mess of a party.

I can't vote for Lib Dems because I feel strongly about trans issues and women's rights. I don't trust them on this.

Greens - I don't agree with a lot of their policies either!

Conservatives tick the most boxes for me, unfortunately.

I hope people look at the parties closely and their policies before they blindly vote. Look at what you're actually voting for. You might end up sabotaging brexit but at what cost to other areas... Sad

GhoulieBat · 01/11/2019 11:18

I would like to vote to keep my decent Labour MP in but I'd also like Labour to be given a good kicking to try to get rid of Corbyn and start again. It's really difficult.
