After having the morning from hell (electricity running out, nausea, broken burglar alarm blaring incessantly while standing outside in the rain) I realised this afternoon I've felt no movement since last night Sad

I'm 30 weeks with DC1, a girl. Sitting in maternity triage at the moment on my own as DH at work an hour away. Had the same thing last week and it was all fine but can't seem to stop my thoughts going to the worst places Sad

Thinking of you OP, I spent a lot of time in the Day Assessment Unit while pregnant, I know how stressful it is.

Robs20 · 30/10/2019 11:20

Hope everything is ok today. I went in lots of times with reduced movements and things didn’t work out well. Please go in as often as you need to and make sure you are satisfied they are taking your concerns seriously (sounds like they are but just in case....).

Shallow07 · 30/10/2019 11:31

Monitoring was fine but have to wait until tomorrow for the scan. I still can't feel anything other than the odd shooting pain in the vagina. It's just so weird because there have been really noticeable movements across my bump since 16 weeks, so I've emphasised to them how out of character this is.

Feel like I should be reassured but I'm not really. Have been having extra sessions for tokophobia and anxiety so this really isn't helping! Hopefully the scan tomorrow can show me if she's moved and what's actually going on

Hi. I’m really hoping everything is fine. As for the tokophobia. I get it totally. I used an independent midwife. She was brilliant. Worked with me to face my fear. I had a vaginal birth and the work we did together resulted in me refusing the c section offered. nB this was offered for chronic back pain, not tokophobia.

4forkssake · 30/10/2019 12:04

Have they told you why the scans being delayed until tomorrow? Can you not push for them to do it today especially given your anxiety?

SirVixofVixHall · 30/10/2019 12:30

I think that not feeling movement can be due to the baby having changed position. Of course it always needs checking out, but as the trace is normal then that is the most likely reason OP.
Shame they haven’t also scanned you today though, as that would hopefully put your mind at rest.

HJWT · 31/10/2019 13:55

@Shallow07 how did it go x

Jellybeansincognito · 31/10/2019 15:49

Hopefully placenta function all good op?

OhDeari · 31/10/2019 15:54

How did scan go today OP?

Shallow07 · 31/10/2019 17:16

Hi everyone, all is good. Massively relieved, got back from the hospital a little while ago and had a little cry in bed! Sounds pathetic but have been so worried. Am going to take it easy tonight.

She is breech and curled up, they think this is why I haven't felt much movement in the last few days.

Thank you everyone so much for your support, it has meant a lot Flowers

Glad to hear all is well OP. Take it easy and look after yourself.

MarshaBradyo · 31/10/2019 17:46

Great news op, normal to feel like that after such worry. Take it easy and look after yourself.

Horsemad · 31/10/2019 17:54

Glad to hear all is good. 🙂

DiaryofWimpyMumm · 31/10/2019 18:49

Glad all is okay! Thanks

OhDeari · 31/10/2019 19:26

That's a relief. She's snuggled up in there. I hope she turns for you and doesn't continue breach.

SirVixofVixHall · 31/10/2019 20:38

Glad all is well and you can relax. Chocolate Brew

TildaTurnip · 31/10/2019 22:30

Good news. If you have any more periods of not feeling the baby move, still get checked. They’ll not mind you going up numerous times Flowers

GrumpyHoonMain · 31/10/2019 22:37

If baby is breach then you will feel wriggly and subtle movements rather than all out kicks. Download an app like Kick count from the NHS and then log every wriggle and squirmy movement. Then don’t wait until there are zero movements to return - midwives will be interested in movement reductions too and respond better if there are stats to back it up.

Shallow07 · 12/12/2019 10:36

Hello, me again. Now 36 weeks and second time in hospital this week with reduced movements again... Feeling sick, can't wee properly and generally fed up. Scan was all totally fine so feel like I'm going mad. They are talking about induction now Sad

OP posts:
riddles26 · 12/12/2019 10:42

I was in hospital multiple times with reduced movement with my first. I had an anterior placenta and we never established a pattern of movement. Every time I went in, baby was fine and moving but I couldn't feel a thing.

I recall going in once at around 36/7ish weeks and they discussed induction too as the worry was that I wouldn't know if anything was wrong if I never felt it to start with. Like you, the scan was fine so they then decided to let me go but if I represented, it would be straight induction or section.

You're not going mad and certainly not alone. I used to be so envious of all those who got uncomfortable with baby kicking too much or see entire limbs poking out when baby kicked as I never experienced it.
