Is it possible to remove mould like this from grout or should I just replace it?

Any suggestions for the best way to remove the mould from the edges of the grout?
If not, is it possible to remove and replace the grout or would I have to replace the tiles as well?
Thanks

Dm used to pay me 2p a tile to clean grout with a toothbrush and Cif/Jif

Grinchly · 28/10/2019 19:37

Astonish is the best I have used.

poptypingchef · 28/10/2019 19:38

CIllit bang mould remover - does the job. I use a toothbrush and it on shower panel seals but for tiles and other areas you generally just have to spread, leave and rinse.

( I believe Mrs Hinch soaks cotton makeup pads and sticks it to stubborn spots but not tried myself)

Thin bleach in a spray bottle. Do NOT use thick bleach - it contains starch which feeds the mould.

Leave on overnight.

Hg mould spray

abitoflight · 28/10/2019 19:43

HG mould spray. Removes it from grout for me but not from silicone sealant

HeatedDryer · 28/10/2019 20:11

HG mould spray. Stinks to high heaven but does the job

mumwon · 28/10/2019 20:21

sodium bicarb with toothbrush & scourer & lots & lots of elbow grease

SpookilyBadOooooooh · 28/10/2019 20:25

One of those will do the trick, but the very worst you’d have to do would be dig out the grout and regrout. The tiles are fine. Grouting is a ‘tip layer’ decorative, it’s not what holds the tiles in place.

Yoohoo16 · 28/10/2019 20:27

Hg mould spray. It’s brilliant!

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 28/10/2019 20:29

Hg mould spray!

LookImAHooman · 28/10/2019 20:38

HG Mould Spray and it’ll get it off sealant if you leave it for longer.

Justgivemesomepeace · 28/10/2019 20:39

I use Astonish. Its brilliant.

LondonBus38 · 28/10/2019 20:41

Yep, another vote for HG mould spray. Its amazing. Clears mould of grouting almost immediately.

KMoKMo · 28/10/2019 20:42

Astonish mould and mildew. And it’s £1.

ragged · 28/10/2019 20:43

Lidl mould & mildew spray did job for us; it's mostly bleach!

ColaFreezePop · 28/10/2019 20:58

HG mould spray.

I've used other stuff but this works the best for the least effort.

It stinks to high heaven.

areyouafraidofthedark · 28/10/2019 21:05

Toothbrush and bleach.

willdoitinaminute · 28/10/2019 21:09

Bought some Cif mould stain spray a few weeks ago to try before regrouting. It is amazing. Looks like a new bathroom! But ended up with one bleach damaged towel, I think DH used it to wipe bath before putting into the wash. So be careful and rinse well before using bath again.
Even better or has cleaned up the sealant aswell.

Lifebi · 28/10/2019 22:05

Thanks very much all.
I think HG mould spray seems to be the most recommended so I'll give that a go.

Its possible to remove without replacing tiles. YouTube 'regrouting'.

Some tilers off it as a service. If you Google regrouting service may we'll bring someone up.
