'Grown up' tea towels

I have only just noticed that my somewhat elderly (decades ) tea towels are mismatched, Different sizes, a bit ragged and, well, really just quite 'studenty''.

Where would you suggest to buy grown up tea towels?

My only grown up tea towel is a 100% linen one by Ulster Weaver by appoint,ent to Her Majesty with zero absorbency

Linen tea towels are supposed to be better than cotton. Does your linen towel have a lot of printing on? I think too much ink makes them less absorbent.

TKMaxx often have Portuguese cotton tea towels, if you like posh patterned things.

I buy plain catering ones that are more like towels and absorb brilliantly.

I've only really ever had them from supermarkets or next, I'm sure I have some that are over a decade and are fine but we don't use them to dry things very often as we have a dishwasher.

Like some other posters, my tea towels have only ever been from supermarkets and some of them are now, I think, 30:years old? Time for some new ones!

Please excuse my ignorance - but what is the difference between a kitchen towel, a tea towel and a tea cloth?

I think I know what the first x2 are - but what is a tea cloth?

I have some that are very old and they’re still the best if you actually want to dry something!

Second best are the glasses ones (photo 1)

The rest of mine are from my holidays to Provence - love their t towels.

Ikea ones are good too.

I hate linen tea towels. Yes, they look very lovely but are fuck all use as they don’t dry stuff.

I cant put up with rubbish t towels. I won a pack of really good t towels in the church raffle, they are excellent and have stayed really thick even after 4 years, they have been used for a day then washed every week, so they have been through the machine hundreds of times. They came from poundstretcher and were £2.99 for 2, they come in all different coloured checks.
