'Grown up' tea towels

Aridane · 13/10/2019 13:59

I have only just noticed that my somewhat elderly (decades Blush) tea towels are mismatched, Different sizes, a bit ragged and, well, really just quite 'studenty''.

Where would you suggest to buy grown up tea towels?

My only grown up tea towel is a 100% linen one by Ulster Weaver by appoint, ent to Her Majesty with zero absorbency

I really need new tea towels but I can never find ones I like.

Dont the white ones get stained? Do people routinely boil wash tea towels etc?

I use the John Lewis terry check ones at £5 each in our caravan as they have good absorbency and don’t look all creased, at home I use anything usually M&S or Next sale ones with a nice pattern. as I only dry up the odd thing

The JL ones are very functional

Baby muslins. Don't look grown up but they suck moisture up and dry things amazingly quickly.

We use the JL terry ones too. Best teatowels ever.

Yes and yes, possibly that's why my very expensive teatowels are now useless for anymore than wiping stuff down instead of drying dishes.
I use the boil wash on the machine, not boil em in a pan on the hob.
Some lovely teatowels on this thread but my God some of the prices too.
