If you won the lottery, what would you buy that isn’t considered a flashy purchase?

What would I buy?

A professional oven clean, a magnolia tree for my garden and a proper family history/ancestry investigator team like they have on Who do you think you are.

I suppose a normal 3/4 bed house with an actual hallway not straight of the street into the lounge isn't flashy? I would buy one near my dd2s school - they are about 300k so that would be my first purchase and a dishwasher, my house has no room for a dishwasher.

A shower that just gives you hot water when you turn the dial from 'off' to 'hot' ONCE!

Sometimes I have to wiggle ours back and forth about 10 f-ing times before the thing will actually fulfil it's only purpose on this earth

Pretty much everything I would get is non-flashy. Me and my partner talk about this regularly (things are a bit rubbish now so we like to chat about what we'd do if things were better) and we never talk about buying anything flashy at all. We just talk about getting him a car (his is knackered and old), paying off the mortgage (and my mum and dad's mortgage), and we want to go shopping without having to add up on a calculator what we can afford as we go round.

I just cannot imagine what it's like to have that level of long term security.
